Games People Play
Walked past a homeless man in the East Village. Atop his shopping cart sat the board game, “Operation.” Got me thinking about how we’re programmed. Playing games like Operation (Western medicine), Monopoly (capitalism), and Risk (global conquest)...setting the parameters for expected and accepted American behavior.

Mickey Z. on Howie Z.
Michele and I went to see the Howard Zinn documentary, “You Can’t Be Neutral on a Moving Train” (http://www.firstrunfeatures.com/howardzinn.html) today. You gotta love NYC. It’s 3:25 on a muggy Friday afternoon and the theater is full.
While the film does not offer a glimpse of Zinn debating any adversaries, it is still an inspiring document...guaranteed to send you from the theater with renewed vigor. See this film and spread the word.

Bluestockings Report
With the exception of no A/C on a July night in NYC, the event went well. Good crowd and everyone at the store was great. Special thanks to Jenn, Ed, Panayiota, Georgia, Ken, James, Mitchell, and the girls from Moo Shoes for stopping by. Also, to my in-laws...and, of course, Michele.
Stay tuned for more events. Those in the DC area might want to set aside Saturday, Oct. 16.
