Expendable Andy is shaking things up in Shanghai
Hey! There it is.
Thanks Mickey.
Captcha sez “doubt” ..as in, don’t doubt what you can do.
Posted by Andy from Shanghai on 02/04 at 10:59 AMIt was great to help a little in your powerful efforts, Andy. I hope all the Expendables can join in by sending this link out, posting it on their blogs and Facebook pages, and interjecting it on forums and threads on related sites. It would be fun to make this go viral.
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 02/04 at 11:31 AMWow...I thought Andy’s efforts would have this comment board humming today.
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 02/04 at 02:53 PMJust passing through on a busy day, but want to say excellent work to Andy and Mickey. Even captcha says “hot”...
Posted by Keir from here and there on 02/04 at 04:13 PMthanks for ‘stirring the possum in China, Andy - and thanks for posting this photo, Mickey! Excellent work, indeed - hi, Keir.
Things have been cooling down in Daylesford lately - only 70F today and some rain. Politically, one of our conservative politicians has been suggesting cutting foreign aid (which is already quite low) and making spending cuts in the public service. What’s new, I ask?
All best from down under,
HelgaPosted by Helga Fremlin from Daylesford, Australia on 02/04 at 04:59 PMThanks, Keir and Helga.
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 02/04 at 06:23 PMwell done andy and i spread it around twitter for u.
would like to have posted a load of things on yesterdays topic too but too busy. shame.
Posted by michael from not scotland on 02/04 at 06:23 PMFeel free to do it anyway, Michael.
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 02/04 at 06:23 PMwell, a bizarre fact i learned and may have posted here before is that if you cut up a starfish into pieces, those individual pieces are each able to form themselves into new starfish.
I even made a picture about it when i found it out!

Posted by michael from not scotland on 02/04 at 06:38 PMalso… apparently young sloths have not quite got the hang of being a sloth yet and therefore sometimes grab at their own arms thinking that they are tree branches and hit the deck!
Posted by michael from not scotland on 02/04 at 06:44 PMLet’s hope the starfish is a metaphor for the entire eco-system.
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 02/04 at 06:44 PMwell they are quite a good one actually because they have a natural defence against most kind of attacks that evolved over time. but they are suffering like everyone else on account of having a whole load of toxic shit dumped on or near their houses.
They haven’t been able to evolve a solution to that one yet.
it is a serious question whether anyone will be able to do it quick enough.
Posted by michael from not scotland on 02/04 at 06:48 PMmr darwin would indeed be quite alarmed.
Posted by michael from not scotland on 02/04 at 07:10 PMHas anyone had the chance to push this link? You know, show a little Expendable pride and get Andy’s efforts some further notice.
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 02/05 at 07:06 AMI tweeted it so it will have reached about 200 people that way.
How many people looked at it I don’t know
Posted by michael from not scotland on 02/05 at 07:11 AMThanks, Michael. Much appreciated.
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 02/05 at 07:54 AMAstonishing photo. Ever seen a lunar fog bow? http://bit.ly/b3Kdue
Posted by michael from not scotland on 02/05 at 08:08 AMI’ve got a couple of people writing this up at the moment. It will go onto the PETA mainsite after the show itself. At that time we can send the pics to all the local Chinese mags and papers too, to do it before would risk a police shutdown.
But it’s open season on English language sites.
Posted by Andy from Shanghai on 02/05 at 08:55 AMGreat, Andy.
Thanks for the pic, Michael.
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 02/05 at 10:37 AMHi Mickey. I voted. Congratulations on the ‘new’ site.
Great job Andy, michael, Keir, and Helga…
