  1. Hi Mickey...I voted. I love the ocean and all creatures who live in it, near it, above it… sharks, gulls,.....

About using animals for human entertainment - not good. Set them all free.

  2. Thanks, RMJ. How are you?

  3. Hi Mickey,
My favorite pool sharks were Paul Newman and Jackie Gleason. Set the others free.
Hope your talks get the audience and response they deserve.

  4. Hi all,
I’m reminded of something Billy Connolly once said. It was about shark attacks on humans and he pointed out that people are never bitten by sharks in Woolworths. The point he was making was that if you go into something else’s territory, they might react in a way you don’t like. It’s similar to my reaction when the Media says a soldier was killed in Afghanistan today, or that a soldier died due to lack of armour on their jeep. I had no armour today, and I’m fine. If tomorrow I invaded Iraq or the US, I’d expect my lack of armour might then be a problem.

  5. Thanks, Bob T.

    Love the armor line, Rick.

  6. Thanks for asking, Mickey. I am hanging in there.

Bob...Ahhhh Jackie Gleason - love his music.

Rick...Have you read my article titled “An Important Moral Question” ? Censored in the US but is on the Internet and also published in a Canadian Magazine.

About the big news of the day - the hero little boy who saved his family when men with guns were braking into their house. The boy called 911.  Too bad the kids in Iraq/Afghanistan can’t call 911 when men with guns break into their houses.

  7. Voted for the article. yeah, human achievement in killing and destruction is so advanced that calling any kind of animal dangerous is borderline absurd.

  8. It’s sad that humanity’s most profound legacy is the increasingly efficient methods of mass murder and even sadder how few humans even notice this.

  9. I’ve been lurking for a while, fellow Expendables. Great comments.

Billy Connolly is one of my favorite comedians, Rick. He’s got a great bit about swimming in Australia while the shark alarm is going off.

Great Authors Dept: Peter Benchley got swamped by the unexpected success of Jaws - he was quite horrified at what he, and that bottom-feeder Spielberg, wrought. On a brighter note, I’m partway through Jonathan Safran Foer’s “Eating Animals.” It’s very, very good.

  10. Welcome back, Zen. You’ve been missed. I’m reading Carlin’s Last Words right now, on your recommendation. So far, so good.
