5 Ways to Value a Pig...and a Glacier
Tried to vote, MZ, but the button’s missing.
“C’mon pig!” - Loved James Cromwell in Babe. Far more enjoyable than the creepy roles he gets.
A glacier is on my hiking list for this season, across Heliotrope Ridge near Mt. Baker. “Get one while they’re hot!” (pls file under ‘bad jokes, Thursday’)
Not A Joke Dept: my mom’s been working on a prisoner’s release for some months, and signatures are needed - they want to reach 1,000 and have 918. Assists would be appreciated. http://tinyurl.com/n7xm2f That’s her at left of photo. Questions? Let me know.

Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 03/18 at 11:12 AMBusy and a bit under the weather today. Saying hi anyway.
Love pigs. Love the image of them trotting around a light forest, having a run, cooling in a stream then having a big group hug/nap.
Posted by Andy from Shanghai on 03/18 at 12:11 PMFeel better, Andy.
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 03/18 at 02:00 PMWondering what else you’ll be doing in this “5 Ways to Value” series. A tree? Rocks? Fruit? Dirt?
Posted by Charles from Jersey City on 03/18 at 03:59 PMDid trees already but dirt sounds good.
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 03/18 at 04:09 PMCaptcha: ‘reaction’. My reaction every time I visit this blog: you deserve a prize for your texts, photos, cartoons, links, or, to put it more succinctly, for your whole site, Mickey! Regarding pigs: are they not the most intelligent animals? One way to value a pig ... No doubt you have heard of Jeffrey Masson’s 2004 book ‘The Pig Who Sang to the Moon’ - well worth reading!
And best wishes go to Zen Prole, Andy and Charles - for the rest of the day/night. Here it is a bit too warm for the season (autumn/fall): 86F today. At least the nights are cooler in Daylesford than in Melbourne.
Posted by Helga from Daylesford, Australia on 03/18 at 06:40 PMI’m a big fan of Masson’s book, Helga.
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 03/18 at 07:23 PMHello from sunny, warn Astoria. A new post is now up.
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 03/19 at 09:30 AMSound judgment, Mickey #8! And only after I had made my comment on pigs being the most intelligent animals, did I read your post. So pigs are ranked #4 on the intelligence scale - not bad!
