A Song for Obama

  1. I remember during the primaries, these Obamabots screamed that they did NOT want Queen Hillary in the White House---I didn’t either---because they absolutely did NOT want a Clinton in the White House or anything connected with Bill or Hillary Clinton. Period. Remember that? They repeatedly wrote: “No Clinton Third Term.” Remember that?

Now look. At the way this thing is shaping up, Walk on Water Obama’s phony “change” bullshit is turning out to be recycled Clinton re-treads. That’s “change,” eh?  (I’m all for recycling, but not in this context).

And the Obamabots NOW think it’s wonderful that these scum of the Earth Clinton retreads are being stacked back in there. They see nothing wrong with it now. In fact, they are cooking up justifications and excuses for it in typical Dem kool-aid style. The damn hypocrites. These Obamabots were the same screwed up, wishful-thinking goddamn fools who were screaming they didn’t want a Clinton or a third Clinton term during the primaries. Now they’re getting that and they’re praising it...because it’s their lord and saviour Obama doing it.

“These folks have tainted the very concept of radical activism and deserve nothing but our contempt."---Mickey Z

Well they get nothing but contempt from me.

  2. I hear you Mickey. Was reading your comment about people backing out of the talk.

    Houston ...we have a problem.

The Obama propaganda machine has decimated the ranks of the progressive army. In history, it is usually the work of radicals, activists and ordinary people moved to protest that eventually captures the imagination and creates positive change in society.

However, we never know who or when, we just have to keep on making noise.

Who can tell at this stage, just how much these chances have been hurt by Obama mania.

I’m just losing it right now. Intelligent people have no business putting their faith in a centre-right capitalist for serious change. We should only be looking at his policies.

Repeating myself, I know. It’s perverse to say this, but I’m thinking it would have been better that the Republicans got in again - so that we could all hit rock bottom then wake the f*ck up - like someone with an addiction or whatever.

But as Mickey always points out here - it may already be too late.

  3. There’s a perfect Shakespeare quote for the likes of our Western democratic leaders that seems even more relevant in the case of the ‘left’ parties ...the Blairs and the Clintons preaching freedom while dropping bombs.

“ ... I set it down. That one may smile, and smile, and be a villain -”

Well they did. They just have a D behind their name. The Bush-accomplice faux Dems.

  6. Many of us can remember the famous ‘Tiny Tears’ doll. This toy was always marketed big at christmas time toward little girls, pretending to be mothers instead of living as young children.

You might remember one year an Afro-American version of this doll was made. I’m sure the company who made this doll saw extra profits to be made from the Black community, seeing only dollars without any concern about Racism and Stereotyping all Females in general.

The doll became the make believe baby, the poor quality entertainment and diversion for the little girl who probably found Tiny Tears more real than her flesh, blood and guts brainwashed family.

Will Obama be another insult, a deception to the Afro-American community since there are war criminals from every ethnic group, every country and the guy has been chosen for his entertainment value, the diversion, pretending to be president and like the doll, a unique novelty, helping to confuse people about what is real with what isn’t...bringing all of us to tears...,?

  9. Thanks for agreeing with me, Mickey - re the relevance and radicalism of ‘The Nation’, ‘The Village Voice’ and other allegedly left-leaning publications!  I actually subscribed to ‘The Nation’ for a year back in the late 1990’s, so know what you are talking about.  IMHO, there are only two magazines worth reading:  the New Yorker and Harper’s Magazine.

Hi, Sam, Andy, Robert B. Livingston, Joe of Maine and Zen Prole from Daylesford, where it is much cooler than yesterday - we had 90F yesterday, then thunder, lightning and rain at night, and today it is a pleasant 72F.

Oh, and I read ‘No Innocent Bystanders’ in one sitting, Mickey.  Simply brilliant!

    Good night, everybody!

Good piece on the American flag here:

  10. Hi Helga

I always mean to post up some Shanghai tidbits or the weather. Unfortunately, apart from about 2 weeks a year, that would mean (I’m in celsius)either in the 30’s with high humidity or freeezing cold. Daylesford sounds nice!

  11. Yes, thanks Helga...for all the Daylesford updates. In Astoria, it’s been overcast and rainy.

  12. My friend Antonio Graceffo is now wanted by the SPDC in Burma.

He must have done some good stuff for the Burmese people to get the junta all riled up like that!

You guys can check out Antonio’s videos on YouTube, at channel “brooklynmonk1”.

  16. Jeremy, oh my god, that’s the Monk from Brooklyn guy. It’s funny that you know him as I read a bunch of his articles in KF magazine.

Although they’re always about bizarre asides such as about how when he was young he met a guy and thought “he could kill me” ..and now he thinks to himself “young upstart, if only you knew I could kill you if I wanted”.

I should watch what I say, he may come over and kill me too ;)

I once reviewed a similar style book called American Shaolin by Matthew Polly. In the review I talked about how Shaolin had been deserted since WW2 and wasn’t even a school for many years before that, and how now it’s a mix of modern Wushu and Chinese rules kickboxing (Polly studied kickboxing there called Sanda).

You know, it was redeveloped only after they made the movie there in 82. But a lot of people swear down they learned the real deal there from a teacher who had always lived there etc.

Finally, the author came on the post and when I held firm, he started with the threats. Funny stuff.

The world of talk-fu is hugely entertaining. I am a master of it ;)

  17. Yup, Antonio is the “Monk from Brooklyn”. I met him here in Taiwan and have kept in touch. He contributes to FPJ.

Here’s my article on Antonio and this incident.

  18. I would have actually preferred Hillary Clinton, since she would not have impeded progressivism as Obama is so far getting away with; (I only mean that I would have preferred her over Obama or McCain - she would still be the same old same old).

Thank you for your op-ed Mickey. My gut is that we have to keep on saying these things over and over again and make a welcome space for those who are able to get past their delusions.

“out” was my captcha word. The truth coming out about the conservative Obama and his deadly policies!

  19. Thanks, Rich. There is a big part of me that wants to move on, stop writing about bogus elections, and focus on the bigger picture...but it just feels right to keep pounding away on the Obama myths. So, I’m trying to do both at the same time.

  22. Hi all...Interesting conversation going on here.  joe’s # 6 really grabbed my attention. Early childhood development, toys, etc - one of my favorite interests.  There is some controversy about toys. I have a real problem with guns, toy soldiers, many video games, etc. I don’t have a problem with using most ‘baby type’ dolls as toys. (There are some newer dolls that are made to look like hookers. I might have an issue there.).....One of the most interesting things I have learned from children is that there is a difference between boys and girls - too significant to be just the result of the influence of culture. Little boys like toy tractors and little girls like toy dolls. That’s just the way it is.......I remember when the common belief was that you could take any child at birth and make him into anything you wanted just by controlling his environment. Nothing could be more erroneous. Biology usually has more influence than environment......My favorite toy was a “Mamma doll” popular during WW2. I had very few toys, but that doll and the most beautiful wicker doll carriage that you could imagine were an important part of my childhood. The only other toy I ever wanted was a “Betsy wetsy” doll. I never got one. My Mother told me that they could not get me one because of the shortage of rubber due to the war. All along I knew that the real reason was that they just could not afford to buy one.

  24. Loved the blog over at Village Voice - humour or not, they have basically just confirmed what you wrote about them.

They have joined the ranks who knee-jerk against people who talk about ‘issues’.

  26. I think our ongoing imperial efforts are not, “a bogus war on a tactic”, as much as an increasingly desperate and futile attempt to maintain order, control, influence and access in resource rich areas of the planet.

And I think B’Iraq O-bomb-a’s maniacs, the Obamabots, are well aware of this (consciously and subconsciously) which is why they cast His vote.

All they really want is an empire with a seemingly kinder, gentler face.

I’m reminded of the words of Erich Fromm:

“What is so deceptive about the state of mind of the members of a society is the ‘consensual validation’ of their concepts. It is naively assumed that the fact that the majority of people share certain ideas or feelings proves the validity of these ideas and feelings. Nothing is further from the truth. Consensual validation as such has no bearing whatsoever on reason or mental health. Just as there is a ‘folie à deux’ there is a ‘folie à millions.’ The fact that millions of people share the same vices does not make them virtuous, the fact that they share so many errors does not make the errors to be truths, and the fact that millions of people share the same forms of mental pathology does not make them sane.”
