Angela Davis: Still raising consciousness today
Hi all...I voted.
Angela Davis is a real role model. Imagine if SHE was president!
Posted by RMJ from Ward Churchill 4 Prez Hdqts on 03/05 at 12:27 PMHello, Mickey and Rosemarie - from a rather wet Daylesford. There’ll also be plenty of rain on the upcoming weekend.
Still .. the largest rural gay and lesbian event aka ChillOut Festival will go ahead - time to party! And I agree with you, Rosemarie:
“Angela Davis is a real role model.’Have a very good weekend, you two and any expendables who comment after us.
Posted by Helga Fremlin from Daylesford, Australia on 03/05 at 02:59 PMHello RMJ and Helga. Great, as always, to see you here.
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 03/05 at 03:04 PMHey all
Voted and off to work for my usual busy weekend, catch you all on the next post.
Posted by Andy from Shanghai on 03/05 at 09:23 PMThanks, Andy. Btw, how did it go with the reporter who covered your show?
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 03/06 at 06:10 AMGreat, Rebecca is a really great person. She loved the show too.
But, she hadn’t heard from the PG editor on the piece, she’s writing it and sending it in anyhow.
Posted by Andy from Shanghai on 03/06 at 09:12 AMThe PG editor tends to be a little slow.
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 03/06 at 09:24 AMHello all. Completely off the post topic, but interesting: PETA vs Matthew Herbert’s One Pig. I know where I stand.
Posted by Keir from here and there on 03/06 at 11:25 AMFree the pigs (including the NYPD)...
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 03/06 at 11:38 AMIt’s interesting how people will hate on PETA because of their publicity stunts.
PETA just use any means necessary to drive traffic into their site and get their name/issues about, then worry later. 90% of their work is unseen.
If people were equally as ‘outraged’ at pollution and animal abuses then we’d be getting somewhere. It reminds me of people who go ballistic at those not seen to be ‘supporting the troops’ when they should be going ballistic about the occupation.
Finding excuses to feed the denial.
My heroes are conscientious objectors and veggie/animal activists like PETA and ALF, thank you very much, haters.
China news, zoo keeper forgets to lock cage, gets eaten by tiger - in Shanghai. And this just in - tigers don’t like cages and are not enamored with their captors.
Posted by Andy from Shanghai on 03/06 at 06:30 PMAgreed. For all it’s hits and misses, PETA is one of the few non-corporate organizations that has a global reach and rep.

Hello, Andy, Keir and Michael. Here is a great new cabaret show from down under: they performed at ChillOut (gay and lesbian) Festival’s Carnival Day yesterday. Although it was a very wet afternoon, fun was had by all present:
