Are you Vegucated?
Hello Mickey...Interesting photo. What is that pavilion used for today?
Posted by Joe of Maine from The Window on 06/21 at 01:26 PMAs far as I can tell, Joe, it has the best use of all: nothing human. It was home to a couple of large birds of prey. I’ll post the bird photo next time but I think they were hawks or ospreys.
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 06/21 at 04:57 PMAnother great photo, Mickey! I hope to be in New York in late July or September - really!
Amd hello, Joe of Maine. I’ll be off to Melbourne later today - back in Daylesford on Thursday, then to Melbourne again on Friday and not back here before Wed 30 June, so have a good rest of the week and a great weekend!
Ciao, Helga
Posted by Helga from Daylesford, Australia on 06/21 at 10:21 PMThanks, Helga. July can be pretty hot and humid in NYC. You might wanna lean towards September.
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 06/22 at 05:16 AMWe have the Expo (world fair) going on here at the moment.
It’s a concrete monstrosity and it will be knocked down again as soon as they are done.
The funniest thing about it is that it has been promoted as ‘green’.
Posted by Andy from Shanghai on 06/22 at 11:32 AMHello everyone...Andy...why do these countries build these one time event structures? It seems wasteful and stupid.
Why can’t these events be built with some kind of vision...one that is wholesome and can ‘build’ on future ideas that are useful for everyone and not simply a take apart circus-like event.
Posted by Joe of Maine from The Window on 06/22 at 02:32 PMCue The Concrete!: One more use since ‘64 - movie prop.
My diet’s shyte these days - that feedback loop of bad food chasing bad news. (This may be a secret to the universe.) I know better. Sometimes. The up side is no fast food or soft drinks in almost ten years.
Captcha sez ‘care.’
Posted by Zen Prole from Pac NW on 06/23 at 12:47 AMGood catch, Zen. I assume you mean Men in Black.
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 06/23 at 07:49 AMA new post is now up...another inspiring interview, I’d say.
