Biofuel Fighter Jet? Hybrid Warship? (Pre-Earth Day Greenwashing Alert)
i wonder if they will be using these for mass defoliation campaigns like in vietnam.
Posted by michael from not scotland on 04/16 at 11:24 AMWe need a new word for “Orwellian,” huh?
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 04/16 at 12:50 PMHi Mickey, Michael, #2...I have a suggestion, “double-plus Orwellian” ??? I have to run, I’ve heard they’ve increased our civil rights from 9 to 7, I have to go and celebrate!
Captcha says five (I kid thee not)Posted by Rick (the Cartoonist) from England on 04/16 at 03:00 PMHi michael, Rick, Mickey, and all…
The military base upstate in Burlington plans to increase the size of the jets based up there. Locals are upset about the increased noise from the new jets. No one is objecting to the other kinds of pollution, or the fact that this is a weapon system designed to kill. Why do we need jet fighters in Burlington (or anywhere else)?

RMJ, you need fighters in Burlington to protect against the Canadian hordes coveting Ben & Jerry’s. Forget oil, coltan, and ideology - if anyone makes off with the Cherry Garcia recipe, we’re screwed. (**Please remember at 2AM when some jet jockey on three handfuls of go-pills blows out the windows en route to “accidentally” bombing the organic market and kindergarten.)
This reply is wicked clever ‘cause I’ve been listening to Paul Mooney - a national treasure. (captcha sez ‘white’ - nk!)

Posted by michael from not scotland on 04/17 at 01:05 PMThe military is such a joke. The idea that they could do anything “green” is laughable. It’s like showing Donald Trump giving a quarter to a homeless guy.
Posted by Charles from Jersey City on 04/17 at 01:32 PMRMJ, 4, Since the airplanes at brunswick naval air station have moved, the silence is delightful.
Many people around here love the navy, the jets, they say all the noise is the sound of freedom. I thought it was the wail of stupidity.
Jet bases in Vermont is quite dumb and there is nothing coherent about the military and the war pigs. I’m still not convinced the military is moving from brunswick entirely. There was much talk about building, testing drone aircraft here. Many people spoke out and there was a huge signature campaign against drones in the area.
If the base is turned over to civilians for development, the development committee will do something that’s just as dumb as having the military present.
Posted by Joe of Maine from on 04/17 at 04:08 PMEnjoying the unbelievebably clear blue skies of a plane-free England. Could we please arrange for an Icelandic eruption every year?
The funny thing is, the sports planes that have overflown me and the gang seemed far less of an annoyance than normal (We’re exactly half way between an international airport and a WW2 aerodrome that regularly flies old Sopwith’s and suchlike).
Posted by Mew from clophill on 04/17 at 07:18 PMThanks, all. A jam-packed new post is now up. See you there.
