Orange Alert
This is the first time in my 35 years of existence that I’ve ever looked at a urinal and thought, “That’s pretty cool.”
Posted by Charles from Jersey City on 04/20 at 11:13 AMYeah, it’s an odd concept, Charles.
Btw, I just added a cartoon to the main post.
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 04/20 at 01:12 PMCharles..1..what brand urinal was it? I was once on a toilet website, you know, designer toilets, regular toilets, I never knew there were so many toilet manufactures on this planet. I think Standard and Elger are decent urinals.
Posted by joe of maine from on 04/20 at 03:50 PMJoe: I’m pretty certain Charles is referring to the image in today’s post.
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 04/20 at 04:23 PMAn update to my previous post...the urinals in this building are made by Crane Plumbing...nice bird on the label. They seem to work well and the flushing mechanism is reliable.
Posted by joe of maine from on 04/20 at 04:36 PMI wonder if you could even fit a toilet in this place:

It’s a water saver toilet. By the way Maine passed the national I.D. law, whatever the hell it’s called. I have no idea where Maine government is going with this.
Posted by joe of maine from on 04/20 at 07:48 PMHello, Cool Observer and thanks for another very cool post and hi, Charles and Joe of Maine.
We’re having another perfect autumn day in rural Victoria: 72F and sunshine - what more does one want? Nothing wrong with the world - but only for a short time, and before one hears the latest news ..
At the weekend 1,000 of the ‘best and brightest’ assembled in our national capital Canberra to discuss ideas. The name of the meeting: ‘Australia 2020 Summit’ - you can read more here:

Let’s see what comes out of that one ..
Ciao,
HelgaPosted by Helga Fremlin from Daylesford, Australia on 04/20 at 07:57 PMKaren’s out so I rented the Day of the Dead remake… Ving Rhames is in it yet it’s not a sequel to the Dawn of the Dead remake from a few years ago. I’ll let you know what I think but I’m not holding out high hopes, direct to vid as it was.
Posted by James from Hell's Kitchen on 04/20 at 11:03 PMDawn of the Dead… you reminded me of Zack Snyder and his offensive excuse for a movie “300”.
And then one of the all-time great comics books ‘watchmen’ is given to him to direct the movie version ...
There is a god, and he hates me.
By the way, James, I noticed that you too felt the passing of Gary Gygax. When I first came out to Shanghai I taught a bit. I still keep one private class once a week cos I love the students to bits and they are practically native speakers now. Guess what we do most classes?
Play Dungeons and Dragons. Great.
Posted by Andy from Shanghai on 04/21 at 09:43 AMI’ve seen some of that one, James. I have to say I was entertained...no masterpiece, of course, but not bad.
I liked Shaun of the Dead:

Posted by JOS from Oak Park on 04/21 at 05:53 PMHey Andy and JOS… oh, I’m giving Snyder the benefit of the doubt on Watchmen for now. 300 and the Dawn remake were fun, though the new Dawn didn’t have the brilliance of the first, but lots more action. And um, this Day of the Dead remake I rented, well it was kinda fun, but very much a straight to dvd movie. The idea of the vegetarian zombie was a new one.
That American Interest link seems not to work…
Posted by James from Hell's Kitchen on 04/21 at 11:10 PMCheck it out, one of the cooler of these cartoons in awhile…
