Rick the Cartoonist sez: "Politics is simple"

Posted by Mickey Z on 05/16 at 08:31 AM
  1. Politics is simple, and hasn’t changed much since pharaonic slaves thought “Damn, it’s hot today. Anyone else thirsty? Let the king build his own pyramid.”

Political rebellion is also simple...just gotta get past the “can’t” part.

    Decent news for a Monday:
http://tinyurl.com/3kqk6l6 I hadn’t heard of West’s change of heart, but it’s about damned time.

  2. Hello, Zen Prole and Mickey - from down under where it is cold and damp.

I posted a card with the usual ‘enclosures’ yesterday, Mickey, so let’s hope it arrives in Queens next Monday 23 May or shortly thereafter.  Posted it to your ‘box address’ btw.

    All best,
    Helga

  4. Good morning Joe, Helga, Zen, Mickey, and all…

Off topic...While you were sleeping you lost one more right - The Supreme Court decided yesterday (with the only dissent by Justice Ginsberg) that the police now have the authority to search your home without a warrant.  The Rule of Law continues to be chipped away- torture, imprisonment without charges, no right to a speedy trial, no respect for sovereignty of other nations, assassination, invasion, occupation, endless war on the people and the environment.........

  5. Forgot to say - nice photo and I like the Rick-toon on the front page.

  6. #4 RMJ, wasn’t that the Election pledges of the Republocrats?
“torture, imprisonment without charges, no right to a speedy trial, no respect for sovereignty of other nations, assassination, invasion, occupation, endless war on the people and the environment”...or was that just what they were thinking?

  7. Rick #6 - Yep. During his campaign Obama actually did promise to increase the Offense Budget. Most dems forget about that.

About the environment - Has anybody heard about the exploding watermelons - maybe in Japan.

  8. Watermelon “land mines” in China. Hooray for human culture.

  9. Authorities are stupid and abusive. At the local level, Mainer’s have got to be some of the dumbest, most low self esteemed idiots on this god damn planet.

They will comply with the most abusive authorities, about anything simply to feel approval, to receive smiles from the councilors, etc. There is absolutely no hope in hell for americans, NONE. The worst things get, the further people degenerate into absolute nothingness. No wonder these corrupt evangelists are so successful.

The lies and Hypocrisy by the grand deciders in washington have become SO outrageous, they have reached poorly written cartoon proportions revealing more explicitly the mentality of those people who apparently have never exited puberty.

  10. It’s always nice when you find it difficult to pronounce what your eating. “Watermelon” I can say...but “forchlorfenuron” growth hormone...?
It sounds like the watermelon have neurons to me!

Reminds me of a scene in the film “Salvador”. The psycho US-backed military nutcase is illustrating how the green colour of the Christian Democrat Party (I think) was...*chops watermelon in half with a huge knife*...really a thin facade to the “Communist red” inside.

    captcha says “peace”
