The wit and wisdom of Charles Bukowski
As always: great quotes and great interviews - and the photos and graphics are not bad either, Mickey!
Thanks for running such a great blog.
Best wishes from a sunny(!) Daylesford to an even sunnier New York City,
HelgaPosted by Helga from Daylesford,, Australia on 09/06 at 07:35 PMThanks, Helga…
And hello to all yet to arrive.
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 09/07 at 05:02 AMBest potted wisdom style quote ever has to be from Don Camara: “When I give food to the poor they call me a saint, when I ask why the poor have no food they call me a communist.”
Posted by Andy from Shanghai on 09/07 at 03:56 PMAnother great quote, Andy #3 which I remember quite well.
Here, you can listen to an interview with Joe Bageant who always calls a spade a spade:

Ciao from a sunny but still cool Daylesford,
HelgaPosted by Helga from Daylesford, Australia on 09/07 at 09:21 PMThis morning, I’m just not feelin’ the cowbell. Maybe I should explore the space.
Nice eco-comedian act, but where’s the edge? How do you make fun of a selfish species polluting its nest? “A whale, a rain forest, and a tiger walk into a bar, and the bartender sez ‘I can’t serve you here, but if you want something to go...’”? More about this later, I hope.
The Buk quotes remind me of Heinlein’s interludes in “Time Enough For Love,” which is still one of my faves.
Helga, I’m jealous. Joe Bageant is never on high-profile media in the States.
Posted by Zen Prole from Boston (temp) on 09/08 at 08:04 AMHello again, all.
I hear you, Zen. As I progressed through this interview, I felt it didn’t go far enough.
I’ll have a new post up soon. Another interview.
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 09/08 at 12:11 PMHello again...from sunny, warm Astoria.
