Crime and punishment = commodities
The Disinfopedia has a good introduction to the Prison-Industrial Complex. The related article by Eric Schlosser is behind the paid archive wall of the Atlantic. I’ll see if I can find a mirror of it.

Posted by harry on from 12/01 at 02:19 PMIn some cities homes in high crime and gang neighborhoods are made available to police officers at very low cost and low interest rates. Sometimes children are afraid walk in apartments because of such a high rate of crimes around our area. So what can we do about that ?... and also what is our social community doing to decrease the rate of crimes???
Thank you.... looking forward for your respond…
Reshma MominPosted by Reshma Momin on from Duluth, GA 05/04 at 08:24 AMOne of the problems we have here is the amount of crime that takes place at night and to me it looks like alot of this crime is committed by young offenders. A good friend of mine was beaten up by three assailants. what can I do to be safe from these criminal activities? and what is our Safety deparments doing to help us out?
Thank you
Hope to see your reply soon!Hong Phuc Le
