  1. People like Jamie always serve to remind me that the true test of the strength of your convictions is not how articulately or passionately you can communicate them… it is the personal hardships are you willing to endure on their behalves.

    It is a reminder that I need, from time to time.

    Considering the hand Jamie has been dealt (detailed further down in the article), it would be difficult to blame her if she had chose to withdraw from society. Instead, she reaches out, takes risks, and leads by example. In addition, her efforts help to further expose the predatory nature of the powers-that-be.
