"This machine kills fascists"
Did anyone else find that the Jib Jab election parody was a subtle nose snubbing at the Elites carving up this land, our land, between themselves?
It’s funny how the older I get the more I come to respect all those fringe country/western singers I grew up disliking for there music.
Posted by Luna_C on from the world of work for a living. 01/18 at 11:30 AMHey Mickey! Thanks for helping to make people aware of those two oft forgotten verses. I was made to stand outside the classroom in fifth grade during music lessons for insisting the teacher include those words while she tried to lead the class in a sing-a-long of “This Land is Your Land.” Thanks for doing your part to rescue Woody’s song from those who would degrade it to the position of a fuzzy, feel-good, down home patriotic jingle. If I could make it to the inaugural to protest, mine would take the form of getting a huge sing-a-long of those two verses going as hundreds, or thousands(dream large, right?), of us wandered out into the path of Shrub’s limo and brought everything to a halt. Woody’s music (the topical stuff anyway) is about taking the power back, starting from the ground up!

Posted by Rev Joe on from 01/18 at 11:36 AMThat’s funny. I got in trouble in school for refusing to sing an obviously communist anthem.
