The Buddhists say:

Posted by Mickey Z on 03/06 at 09:14 AM
  1. Once upon a time, about a year ago, I was reading a book by Chogyam Trungpa.  He said that the Buddha was like an empty campfire and the Buddha had just left.  Later I took my dog for a walk in the River Valley.  We happend upon an empty campfire and the words “and the Buddha has just left” came to me.  It was a very strange feeling of complete emptyiness, not unpleasant.  A week later we were walking again and for some reason I went into the bush.  I came across a circle of grass about four feet across and completely surrounded by trees.  In the middle of the circle was an orange mushroom.  Into my head popped the words “and nature fills you up”.
    This just seemed fitting.

  2. Where’s the River Valley and what kind of dog do you have as a companion?

  3. The Williams Lake River drains Williams Lake into the Fraser River In British Columbia.  It has hiking and bike trails and is about 10 Kms.long My best friend is a cross between a border collie and an Australian shepherd.  This is ranch and timber country, not a hotbed of radical thought. We would probably be considered a red state if in the states.

  4. Thanks, Rhondda...and thanks for the “Buddha has just left” story.

    Give those ranchers hell…
