Time to give up Chuck
I enjoyed Fight Club.
Some people need long breaks to recharge after tapping into whatever it is that gives them creative ability. You can’t be a genius on every outing. Forcing it delays the next great achievement. Sometimes forcing it kills off that spark.
Posted by Harry on from 07/13 at 06:05 AMThat’s what I meant by “running on fumes.” There are enough unique ideas in all of Chuck’s most recent novels to make for one or two books almost as good as “Fight Club.” Important lesson for any writer, I’d say...but then again, it’s not like any of this has hurt his books sales or popularity so what the hell do I know?

If he needs the money right away, it makes sense to crank ‘em out. Matching that against burn out is tricky.
There’s a Wikipedia article on him that’s interesting.
