The Bonus Army, Mickey Z. on your dial, and our latest photo caption winner
Micky, Thanks for that great article regarding the Bonus Army, a subject too few have ever heard mentioned. It’s interesting to ruminate upon the way the “Powers that be” learn lessons from their awful actions: they’re still abusing the vets, as well as those on active duty, while hiding behind the smokescreen of vague phrases like “Support the Troops.” And the front-line perpetrators of the crimes get promoted to bigger and better positions. All they have learned from history is to cover up the crimes (somewhat) better.
Posted by Rev Joe on from 08/28 at 10:43 AMSad, but true, Rev. The elites have learned more from the past than the dissidents.
Posted by Mickey Z. on from Astoria 08/28 at 12:50 PMA fine, fine piece, Mickey. Powerful, but like a side-kick to the stomach. Whew.
And, you know, it’s not just the dissidents who have refused to learn. The American Legion, the largest Vet group in the US, recently gathered in Hawaii, and passed a resolution condemning protesters as “providing aid and comfort to the enemy,” as their “lessons from Vietnam” have proved to them.Mickey, we’re so profoundly brainwashed, it’s literally terrifying. And, war is their most dazzlingly effective “wash.” Grown men kneel and worship this Terrible God, even as the government takes their sons and daughters away to become the next generation of cannon fodder.
How have the Elites managed to turn this most horrific of human experiences into something to be praised and worshipped? It’s almost a spiritual sacrament. Parents shed tears of joy and pride as they tuck their kids into those military buses which take them off the the front.
War is Peace. Freedom is Slavery. We are all living in Orwell’s nightmare…
Posted by joe on from Oregon 08/28 at 03:27 PMYou sure said it, Joe: a spiritual sacrament. A human sacrifice, if you will. We willingly and proudly offer up our young to the gods of democracy (sic)....or is that the gods of commerce?
Posted by Mickey Z. on from Astoria 08/28 at 03:46 PMRev.Joe, Mickey, and Joe...the Peace Movement has failed because it has been hypocritical. Shouting, “Support the Troops” gives the message that their mission is supported. If only the anti-war protestors had put out the message of, “Inform the Troops”, we would make some progress. Imagine, if all of those yellow ribbons said Inform instead of Support. Sometimes one word can make or break a movement. Also, I keep saying that George Bush never killed anyone and no one was drafted to go to Iraq. We have to face the fact that some of the soldiers have openly stated that they enjoy killing. Many are over in Iraq killing because that is what they want to do. That link that I gave yesterday says it better than I can. It is easy to criticize George Bush but he could not do anything without the help of the troops and the troops are supported by the so-called peace movement.

Check this guy out.

Give him a listen and read over. he leaves you wondering just how easily manipulated all sides of the issue can be.
He’s also got great music for his breaks, but that’s beside the point. ;)
peace,Posted by Luna_C on from the Badlands smashing tanks and punching missiles. 08/28 at 08:32 PMAfter checking out that site, Luna, I don’t know if I should be relieved or insulted that I’m not suspected of being a CIA plant.
Posted by Mickey Z. on from Astoria 08/28 at 08:58 PMCFUV Gorilla Radio - wild! I’m looking forward to listening.
Thank you for your kind words about the caption. I am thrilled to be a lucky winner and will report back to all about the prize.

Posted by Lee Hall on from 08/28 at 10:07 PMI actually did check for your name before I posted the link. hehe Maybe its a radar thing. Vyzygoth’s Grassy knoll show didn’t make the cut either. ;)
I think the guy makes some good points. What worries me is that he sets himself in the role of the mouth piece of truth, which is exactly what most of his list makes a point of not doing.
Posted by Luna_C on from the Badlands smashing tanks and punching missiles. 08/28 at 11:22 PM“Inform The Troops”
Brilliant. Haven’t heard it before. Says it all. Rosemarie, may I use this?

Posted by Lee Hall on from 08/28 at 11:41 PMThat http://www.breakfornews.com/index.htm is interesting but I wouldn’t rule out CIA involvement in that one either - discrediting genuine researchers by including them with some of the more transparent ones is a pretty old trick.
Posted by Owen on from Barcelona 08/29 at 09:58 AMHad another browse of the site, I do like the cut of some of his jib but would prefer he elaborate the individual cases instead of just putting up a blacklist with nothing but links to the sites.
Posted by Owen on from Barcelona 08/29 at 10:35 AMI set myself as the mouthpiece of truth?
That’s a gas.
If I have opinions, I state them as such. If I have documentation of fact, I state that as such.
If ever a talk show host let his guests talk, I’d like to find out who he or she might be.
I think you judge me too harshly.
Posted by vyzygoth on from 12/07 at 08:21 PMWhoa! What did you do Vyz? Come across this posting after a google search? lol
I was referring to Fintain Dunne as the person who sets himself up as a mouth piece of truth, not you.
I mentioned your show as being one that may be under Fintain’s radar and consequently not making it onto his little list.
Sorry for the confusion, no slander was intended.
Personally I find you, Vyz, to be one of the best interviewers out there. Funny thing I’ve been meaning to write you about checking this site out and possibly, hopefully getting Mickey on your show one night.
Peace,
LunaPosted by Luna_C on from Vancouver 12/07 at 08:37 PMThanks for straightening that out, Luna. I was just about to do the same.
...and good to meet you, Vyz.
Posted by Mickey Z. on from Astoria 12/07 at 08:42 PMHey yeah, no problem. I wanted to respond asap on that one. I have nothing but respect for that guy.
So since I tooted your horn to him . Here’s a quick toot for Vyz.
He’s an awesome guy and I’ve been following his show for almost 2 years now. Never dissapointed. Check his site out and give a little listen and a read over.
Peace and Love,
