    Things weren’t the same here without you, Mickey.

    I’ll just pass this on again. This afternoon at 1:30 Harry Belafonte will be on C-span. It is a rebroadcast of a talk I heard during the night. It is really worth watching and recording. He talks about one possible solution to the mess we are in...the unification with others in South America, Africa, etc.

  3. Congratulations so far, Mickey… and hey, good news, when you get settled in and can post more often, I’ll be freed up to comment more during the day, because I lost my job yesterday. Hurray! I should throw another party and make enough food for thirty people or something crazy like that.

  7. Congratulations, Mickey. I am sure that you are ahead of me. I moved 21 years ago, was working and on call 24/7 then. I never did get completely unpacked. I still have some boxes that I need to look into. I guess that if I didn’t need whatever is in those boxes in 21 years, they must not be important.
    Jeremy, that is a great article. You really did a lot of research.
    James, sorry about the job. Are you going to be OK?

  11. Thanks for all the good wishes. Congrats to Jeremy, re: his article getting picked up. James: Sorry to hear you’ll be back on the job search. And hello to everyone else.

    I must admit, it’s been a good break from the Web and blogging. Much needed. I may post something later today and then haphazardly throughout the week. I’ll just get back in the groove when we leave for a week in Texas to see my family. I’d say things won’t be back to “normal” around here till late April. Maybe it’s time to change the way I do things here anyway. Any thoughts?

  12. sounds like you could use a break, Mick.  I suggest taking it easy for a month and then decide what direction you want to take things.
