Us vs. Them ... or it Us vs. Us ... or perhaps Them vs. Them?
I feel like They are just more We and ultimately more I.
I don´t necessarily agree with the Watson reality check of this rich vs. poor idea cause that´s just another us vs. them dialectic I don´t buy into - it doesn´t matter if you´re rich, if you´re using the current monetary system at all you´re being suckered. I used to hear quite a bit from people around the start of second Gulf slaughter, if they thought it was for oil or money, “How much money is enough?” but it´s not like the architects of our war(s) are sitting around gloating they have four squillion today and they´ll have five tomorrow - money in its current usage is a tool of control, nothing more. Mayer Amschel Rothschild (name comes from German rote schild, “red shield”, though they used to be known as the Bauers and were the most powerful occult family in Germany before becoming high priests of economics) said “Give me control of a nation´s currency and I care not who makes the laws.”Posted by Owen on from Gyarrcelona 04/03 at 06:20 AMUs and them
And after all, we’re only ordinary men
Me and you
God only knows it’s not what we would choose to do
Forward he cried from the rear
And the front rank died
And the general sat, as the lines on the map
Moved from side to sideBlack and blue
And who knows which is which and who is who
Up and down
And in the end it’s only round and round and round
“Haven’t you heard, it’s a battle of words,”
The poster bearer cried
“Listen son,” said the man with the gun,
“There’s room for you inside”Down and out
It can’t be helped but there’s a lot of it about
With, without
And who’ll deny that’s what the fighting’s all about
Get out of the way, it’s a busy day
And I’ve got things on my mind
For want of the price of tea and a slice
The old man died;)
Posted by Jeremy on from Taiwan 04/03 at 08:23 AMbeside your Press Action article was a link to Alternative Press Review, where I found an interview from 1998 with Al Lewis (Granpa Munster)
Q. So what was the first political activity that you were ever involved with?
A. I don’t know. Probably when I shit on the grass in Prospect Park, I don’t know. I don’t know what that means. What is a political activity? What does it mean?
Rest of interview is at http://tinyurl.com/euckx and recommended, he´s an inneresting fella.

Posted by Mickey Z. on from Astoria 04/03 at 02:15 PMHi everyone...I like the US vs US reference on the main page here today. I just used it at PressAction. I think the current Immigration War is very much US vs US. No war can be won without knowing who the enemy is. Too many USA workers think the enemy is a Mexican worker. (I know that there is a veiwpoint that there is no us vs them, but....).
Where’s Mudge? Amelopsis? Youngfox? Joe? Keir?
Posted by RMJ on from Churchill 4 Prez Hdqts 04/03 at 02:56 PMGreat article, Mickey. Very thought provoking. I wonder what the other MZ’ers think of this statement…
“All people are the same. The poor are simply wannabe rich people. The oppressed are wannabe oppressors.”
I don’t think that that generalization can be made.Posted by RMJ on from Churchill 4 Prez Hdqts 04/03 at 03:33 PMAnyone have a comment on this story? I don’t agree with it.
Posted by RMJ on from Churchill 4 Prez Hdqts 04/03 at 05:54 PMHi RMJ: Interesting article. I’ll re-post the link tomorrow.

The oppressed want what the oppressor has; power not to be oppressed.Posted by ed on from here 04/04 at 07:04 PM
