Tomb it may concern...

  1. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again-- I have got to start working out regularly. And getting more sleep and taking better care of myself. Time to start taking this vegan diet seriously. Thanks for the inspiration, matey.

And regarding out Van Halen chatting the other night, this in the news a few years ago:

  2. Great photos, Matey Mickey. I’ll meet you on the high seas.

Also great Malcolm quote. Many so-called progressives cannot discern the difference between violence and a reaction to violence. Seems that the country is in denial about blowback. Churchill tried to explain it but somehow the masses still don’t get it.

David, I don’t think that voting will make much of a difference because there will be the choice between a war party and a war party. If people united behind or in front of third and fourth and fifth parties maybe voting could make a difference. Meantime predatory capitalism will be disguised as “freedom and democracy” and will continue its plundering of the planet. How many lives will be lost in the meantime? Seems to me we have to find a more effective strategy, maybe we should all sit out the elections till we have some real choices. I’m tired of voting for “none of the above”...have been writing in “Nader” for decades now.

  3. P.S. GOOD MORNING, JAMES

  4. Thanks, RMJ, but Actually good night; off to get more rest. Found myself coming down with a cold, of all things in this hot and humid NYC July.

  5. Had to post due to the hot piccies MZ! Echo the thoughts about the Malcolm X quote- By Any Means Necessary. Lazy Sunday here - awaiting the footy final tonight, Bedford (my hometown) is known as ‘Little Italy’, could get a tad noisy later, imagine it’ll be the same your way Mickey. Greetings all.

  6. Mikey

You probably don’t review movies, but I would like to know if you give it a ‘thumbs up’ or a ‘thumbs down’.

I enjoyed the first pirate movie and was wondering how this one compares.

Hope you all have a great Sunday planned.  Anyone going to watch the soccer game today?

  7. soccer! You’ll get shot for calling it that around here smile

  8. Hello Expendables. If we say “football” around here, it gets awfully confusing...but yes, I will indeed be rooting hard for Italia.

Glad everyone liked the photos...I couldn’t resist. The movie itself was not as entertaining as the first one but it serves the useful purpose of complete distraction. Sometimes it’s great to feel like a kid again. For that reason, yes, I’d recommend it.

    Anyone watching Federer-Nadal at Wimbledon?

  9. Michele and I just got back from marching all over Astoria with our Italian flag and 10,000 of our closest friends. It’s pandemonium out there...and, of course, the goddamned NYPD are trying to ruin everything. I hope to post some images here this week.

Captchas sez: “million” (as is how many are screaming outside my window as I type this)

    Forza Italia...

  10. It has been a dull tournament, but well done Italy (and Uncle Joe, who I believe is now in line to collect £100 from his office sweepstake.) They might wake up with a bit of a hangover though…
I’ll try and write a review of Endgame which I finished last week, but I’m currently wrestling with a fairly major (and expensive) life decision, so I’m promising nothing.

  11. I’m giving the Dems a chance this election(2006). If the Dems take control of congress and we get some investigations going pertaining to the actions of this President...Oh Hell, Who am I fooling. No matter who we get it’s going to be the same old sh*t. If only we could get Mickey elected!

  12. Mew: Good luck with your decision. As for the World Cup, I’m really hoping the PK solution can be fixed. Otherwise, consider me 100% converted.

David: As far as I’m concerned, there is one primary difference between Democrats and Republicans: They tell different lies to get elected.

  13. David...I just got home from a veterans meeting. One of the topics of discussion there today was how the Democrats in Congress are equally guilty and should also be tried for war crimes along with those in the Bush Administration. If the dems did not continue to fund the war maybe the slaughter of civilians would stop.
