News Flash: Here's why "they" hate "us"

Posted by Mickey Z on 09/06 at 04:08 AM
  1. Thank you, Mickey for posting the link to the Fisk photos. I look at them on a regular basis. Please notice the 3 photos in the second row - the little girl with the back of her head blown off by a usa cluster bomb. I remember the first time that I saw that photo several years ago. A friend delivered a brown manila envelope with photos. We sat down on the steps to my front porch and I started to look at them. When I came to that one I momentarily wondered why a photo of a beautiful child without a scratch on her face had been included. Then I saw the back of her head. In that moment, I knew that I had been changed forever and my life would never again be the same.

  2. Those photos really are rough, and a great article as always, and inspirational video… maybe we all just need to think outside the box:

  3. Just started Endgame (Jensen) and really like how he explains perspective and propaganda using 4 different versions of the what happened on 9/11.  I have only just begun the book but can see again how much Daniel Quinn has influenced him, especially the part about how ridiculous the idea is that there is only one right way to live.  I am looking forward to reading the rest…

  4. That reminds me, I’ve had part two of Endgame on order for over a month now. Grrr. Anyway, here’s my contribution for today - almost comically psychotic.

  5. Hello Mew, RMJ, James and Mickey.  I am still exploring this, but at first glance it seemes like a pretty good tool:

  6. Hello Expendables from a suddenly sunny Astoria. Good to have JOS and Mew back. Thanks for the links, etc.

  7. Hello All,

This link opens to a very disturbing photo group and the site has links to other photos of the destruction of Lebanon.

We do need to see the ugliness of war.

  9. ...and we are all “snowflakes”. From one Flake to another, I’m wondering if today’s news will wake up any of the sleeping. I am sure that all Expendables already knew (a long time ago) the 2 top news stories of the day (I am hoping for visitors here)...the hanky panky between the Army and Raytheon, and the Bush announcement that the CIA has been operating a secret prison system. Like I keep saying, if we didn’t have a secret Black Budget, there would not be funding for a secret prison system.

  11. Great proverb, Mickey. Any idea which part of Africa it’s from? I’ve recently begun to notice that the term ‘African’ is often used in a sense which is never applied to any other other large continent (even relatively homogenous ones), e.g. usage of the word “ubuntu” here (from the “African” language), or the attack on “black Africans" by others who look exactly like them and would consider themselves either ‘black’ or ‘African’ in the same sense I suppose as Koreans would consider themselves yellow or Asian. Curious…

  12. Hey SK...long time, no see. I’m not sure which part of Africa it’s from. I’ll have to check. Good point, though, about the use of the word “African.”
