Have you spoken to your doctor about erectile dysfunction?
Good morning Mickey,
great quotes and I dig the Haiku. I can’t stand to hear Tracy Chapman sing (result of a single song being overplayed, overplayed, overplayed...) but I like reading what she says.
Posted by Amelopsis on from Canada 10/17 at 07:10 AMOh no...Amelopsis and Mr. Livingston from last night. When I was taking the test for radio operator, it was the code part that almost did me in. The only letters that I can translate now are SOS and my old call sign. Help!
Maybe I need some Viagra. My spammers think I do.
About the quote about angels...I know that there are people who live their lives like angels. They are few and far between but they are out there. I have met some of them. A few of them are right here at Mickey’s.Posted by RMJ on from Churchill 4 Prez Hdqts 10/17 at 07:41 AMYou and Amelopsis are the angels here, RMJ.
Here is my quote of the day:
Action is eloquence.

JOS - That’s awfully nice of you to say, thanks
Jeremy - I like that, have I read it before?
Posted by Amelopsis on from Canada 10/17 at 10:08 AMGreetings Expendables...from a damp, rainy Astoria.
In keeping with today’s post, I’m here to simply say hello. Be back later…
Posted by Mickey Z. on from Astoria 10/17 at 10:54 AMWhat’s up Expendables?
Q: What did the Zen Buddhist say to the hot dog vendor?
A: Make me one with everything.Posted by Keir on from The Hague (Jackowski election hdqts) 10/17 at 11:17 AMAmelopsis, the idea is certainly plagiarized (I recall David Gilmour, I think, making the point), but the Haiku is an original (at least I hope).
Posted by Jeremy on from Taipei 10/17 at 11:56 AMOh yeah, just for fun, after noticing its popularity here in recent days, I signed up at YouTube and uploaded an edit I made a while back.
Posted by Jeremy on from Taipei 10/17 at 12:13 PMJeremy
Will any of these questions ever be answered?
Posted by Canadian Observer on from 10/17 at 12:59 PMJeremy, i think the idea David Gilmour expressed has been around about as long as perception has, like sitting by a tree looking at the spaces between the leaves.
Posted by owen on from barcelona 10/17 at 02:28 PMHello again, everyone. I just wanted to clarify that sometimes “simple” is not the best choice.
Posted by Mickey Z. on from Astoria 10/17 at 02:32 PMVery bad news:
http://tinyurl.com/yhxhtxKeir, you’re geographically closest, but who’s got any clue as to why some of the countries with the most socially progressive policies persue with such abandon policies of aggression, disregard and anihalation of the Whale Nation?????
Posted by Amelopsis on from Canada 10/17 at 05:48 PMAmelopsis actually our friends in the UK and Ireland are a bit closer. But who is in a position to stop this?
The other country breaking the international moratorium on whaling is of course Japan, which peace-loving victim of a nuclear attack (and now part of its attacker’s coalition of the killing) is now considering scrapping its pacifist constitution.
For one reason or another I was never very militant or outspoken about my being a vegetarian. Our man Mickey’s writing helped me think of what I eat in other terms, connecting the culture’s willingness to consume the products of our cruelty to the willingness to engage in and permit similarly cruel acts.
Posted by Keir on from The Hague (Jackowski election hdqts) 10/17 at 06:20 PMCheers, Keir.
Empress: They call the slaughter of whales “scientific research.” Makes me think of Shaw, who sez: “Science is always wrong; it never solves a problem without creating ten more.”
Posted by Mickey Z. on from Astoria 10/17 at 06:24 PMGood evening from Daylesford, Mickey - where it is 10:13 am on a sunny Wednesday morning. You rock as always - great graphics (love the sparkling one especially) and quotes.
Re Genet: I suppose you and all the other expendables know that Edmund White has written a biography of him - and it comes highly recommended by expendable Helga.
Ciao, amici ..
Posted by Helga Fremlin on from Daylesford, Australia 10/17 at 07:13 PMHello all. This is my first comment though I’ve been reading this blog from some time now.
Mickey, I’m interested to know how that Google thing is working out for you. Also, the quotes you post on your blog here hardly ever cease to be great.
Posted by Ender on from Detroit, MI 10/18 at 01:07 AMHey Ender, nice to meet you. Hope you’ll join in again soon. As for Google, I don’t think my cheeky post titles are having much impact.
Oh well...back to the proverbial drawing board…
