Mid-Term Election Post Mortem

Posted by Mickey Z on 11/10 at 05:10 AM
  1. Good Morning Mickey & everyone.

Choosing the lesser evil for the U.S., I think most of us outsiders would opt for the Democrats.

Do you have any idea, Mickey, how much damage the Bush administration has done to your great country?  In the eyes of the world, Americans did the right thing (at last) on November 7th.

Looks like we are in for a bright, sunny day here in Montreal.

  2. Good morning all...Mickey that is another good article there. You have been producing at an amazing pace recently. I especially like your concluding statement, “they tell different lies”. Yesterday I had a conversation with a so-called left winger who defended the political activities of those in Congress who vote for the war “because they have to, to be re-elected”. Then those same politicians come back home and pretend to be against the war. It reminds me of that Jack Nicholson statement, “You can’t stand the truth”.

Anyway, I just want to thank everyone here for the support during the past couple of months. The votes are now counted. I received 10,299. That is more than double what I had expected. It was a lot of fun telling people that my campaign was headed by Keir, IN THE HAGUE! One important thing that happened was that I was contacted by other people who have been denied Justice. There are a lot of them out there, not only in Vermont, but across the country. I have a meeting next week with one of the legislators to discuss reform. I am not optimistic. He is a Republican. I have been waiting over 6 years for the Democrat who is Head of the Judiciary Committee to return my call. We need Alan Shore and Jerry Spence, that would be a “Dream Team”.

  3. On behalf of the multicultural city of The Hague, seat of International Justice, which has unanimously vested in me the authority to speak for it on this one occassion, I would like to congratulate Rosemarie Jackowski not only for her impressive showing at the polls this week, but for continuing her uncompromising pursuit of justice. Rosemarie: you are an inspiration to us all, and we will not concede.

Canadian Observer, you are correct: American voters, by participating in a rigged democracy without making any net change in the way they live their lives, certainly did do the right thing.

    MZ: nice one.

  4. 10,299?  That is incredible...great job RMJ!

  5. Hello Expendables. It looks like another unseasonably warm day here in NYC.

RMJ: Please allow me join Keir and JOS in expressing my admiration. I’ve said it before but it bears repeating: You rock...

CO: I understand the sentiment but I truly feel no one realistically has the time to wait for the two-party system to finally start working. As W.C. Fields sez: If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. Then quit. No use being a damn fool about it.

I’m heading out soon. I’ll everyone a little later.

  6. Congratulations Rosemarie!!  Goes to show you that there are at least 10,299 Vermont citizens with some intesttinal fortitude.  Well done.

  7. Thanks JOS, Keir, and everyone. The 10,299, even though no third party candidates were covered by the Press, and in Bennington, all 3rd Party candidates were even banned from participating in forums that were held in taxpapyer financed buildings (our fire house), also, the incumbent was a 5th term, well-financed Democrat who was appointed because he is a crony of Howard Dean. This vote proves that there are a lot of people who have been victimized by the system and want change.

  8. Sorry, for the misspelling, that should have read (guts).

  9. Thanks Mickey and Canadian Observer. I could not have done it without you. The justice system will be cleaned up when we get the judges and lawyers out of the courtrooms. The international crimes will diminish when we get all of the military out of other countries.

  10. How many of the rest of the votes for RMJ and similar candidates might have been stolen . . . ?

  11. Hey folks.  Well, I awoke to two interesting bits of news today.  In the US the Democrats now have control of both houses, and in the UK our terror alert has risen gravely.  Apparently Dame Edith Slyone or some such, head of M15 (isn’t that supposed to be secret?), has said they’ve been fighting off up to 30 major terrorist attacks.  Mmm.  The Republicans get voted out, or partially away, and we have to get more scared.  Hmm.

I’d be interested to learn more of the Expendables’ reaction to this.

Keir, congratulations of the position you now hold.  Any chance of a TV broadcast with a South Park style “#### both parties” message?  I’d be your fan forever.

  12. PS RMJ & Keir - well done on those 10,299 votes.  I bet plenty more would have voted for you if they’d actually met you or you’d had better broadcast time.

    Captcha says “sound.” Indeed so!

  13. Hello again, all. Welcome back, Chris. My take on comments #10 and 11 is sure, I’ll bet some votes were stolen...and sure, I’ll bet the powers-that-be will try to create the illusion that “we” are in more danger now that the Dems are in charge. It’s all part of “our” system of propaganda and control.

  15. Hello, Mickey and all you other expendables!

Back from Wellington, NZ - a very beautiful city which reminded us of San Francisco with its winding roads, hills and the water visible everywhere.

And I quite agree with you re the Clintons, Mickey.

Off to breakfast - hope you all have a great weekend,
    Helga
