As "they" say: perception is reality
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MICHELE !
I like the contrasts on the main page today, Mickey. Today is “Family Day” on Wall Street. All of the workers get to take their children to the stock exchange so that when they grow up they can be good Capitalists too.
Posted by RMJ on from Churchill 4 Prez Hdqts 11/24 at 01:21 PMHey Mickey (and you bunch of unimpeachable expendables), well said, as always. Thanks for the Hawk link. Happy Bird Days, Birth Days, Happy, Happy… tempered by the truth that brings us together on the internet.
Posted by Peter (the other) on from California 11/24 at 02:21 PMAnd a HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MICHELE .. from me as well.
Thanks for exposing hypocrisy, Mickey - I could not agree more with what you say in this post.
And have a good weekend, Rosemarie and Peter (the other) as well as Mickey and Michele!
Captcha ‘group’ - I really like the group of expendables who assemble here ..
Posted by Helga Fremlin on from Daylesford, Australia 11/24 at 03:18 PMHello Expendables. Always a pleasure, RMJ and Helga...and Peter, long time no see.
We had great weather in NYC today. Michele (her b’day is actually Sunday) and I took the train down to Canal Street and walked through Chinatown, Little Italy, the Lower East Side, and the East Village. Among many stops, Michele bought vegan shoes here: http://www.sondraslair.com/tien.html and we ate here: http://www.sondraslair.com/tien.html.

http://members.aol.com/bblum6/aer37.htmPosted by Mickey Z. on from Astoria 11/24 at 07:39 PMHappy Happy to Michele. MZ, I remember your MOMD book tour in Boston… she was there with you and I said “Damn. Anarchist black belt writers get all the babes!” Happy returns and good health to the both of you (and a smashed empire in the breakdown lane).
This gets my vote for the line of the day: “...claim to be the Messiah in Waco and they’ll drive a tank through your living room.” Bill Hicks was a first person witness to the atricities in Waco, commenting “If they’re so concerned about child abuse, how come they aren’t driving tanks through Catholic churches.” Expendables, if you haven’t already, watch “Waco: The Rules of Engagement.”
What else??? Today was Buy Nothing Day, a quixotic effort by Adbusters. I usually observe, and did today.
Captcha sez “later.” Agreed.
Zen ProlePosted by Zenprole on from Urth 11/24 at 09:10 PMThere should be a ‘?’ at the end of that Bill Hicks quote - he wasn’t deadpanning.
Posted by Zenprole on from Urth 11/24 at 09:14 PMThanks, Zenprole. You brought a big smile to Michele’s face. If I remember correctly, you brought Saving Private Power with you that day, right? Again, I’m psyched you’ve decided to join the fun here. The comments section is typically more lively and you will fit right in, my friend.
Posted by Mickey Z. on from Astoria 11/24 at 09:45 PMOne last comment from me. I meant to post this earlier, re: Lebanon:
