Tis the season for universal love and peace and all that...right?

  1. Greetings to all “Expendables”.

News is reporting that the Chatham, NY peace group placed a large wreath on display in a public place. The wreath was in the shape of a peace symbol. The Mayor ordered that the wreath be removed and placed in the town garage, “where it can be picked up”. I hereby nominate the mayor for the “2006 Bah-humbug Award”.  Did someone say that this is the season of peace and love?

My capcha word is “think”. Better tell it to the Mayor!

  2. Hello Expendables...from rainy, damp Dubya Land.

RMJ: I always try to remember that everyone wants peace...but just on their terms. That mayor isn’t against peace; he just doesn’t want the type of peace implied by that wreath but it’s “anti-war.”

Captcha sez: time (as in “...will tell")

  3. Hey Mickey, RMJ and all yet to arrive… anyone see or hear much of this new movie Blood Diamonds? There’s a discussion on C-Span right now with the head of the U.S. office of Global Witness about the issue of conflict diamonds… hm. Buying the right diamond (antique) might have been the one thing I did right with former engagement.

Anyway, best wishes with Mrs. Z down in Texas. Been hoping for months now that she’s doing better. Off to Maspeth, Queens soon myself.

  4. Hia mz rmj james and all my fellow man,

second your motion rmj, he should be strung up by the goulies in the town square and lit up with fairy lights (although normally i would eschew violence.. what the hell it’s christmas lets live a little).

have you seen jesus the musical on google. hehe.. but seriously, i think it’s really great that santa claus died on a cross for us and the global plastics industry, what a legend..

    pax et amor

seasons pursuing each other, te plougher ploughs and the mower mows and the wintergrain falls in the ground… i am of old and young, the foolish as much as the wise. w. whitman

  5. Letter of the Day, XMas Eve edition:
“If Islam is such a peaceful religion, why are so many of those who engage in terrorism avowed Muslims? Why do Muslims claim the West is oppressing them when oil prices are going through the roof? Muslims must take a good look at themselves and their way of thinking to find out what has gone wrong with their societies for the past five centuries.” a letter to Time from Waco, TX.

As Lewis Black does so well on stage, “Sigh.”
