The United States of Equality

  1. Is it me or did you neglect to mention the accomplishments of political activist Sean Puffy Combs, founder of the innovative “Vote or Die” campaign? Illustrated on this clip from South Park:

  2. Hello Expendables...from a windy, chilly Astoria. Thanks for the link, Cat Lady. That was exactly my reaction when I heard Diddy’s “vote or die” nonsense: What the #### does that mean?

Being that the comments section has been, uh, rather muted the past few days, I putting out a call for some prodigal sons and daughters to step up: Mudge, Keir, Owen, Fiona, Jeremy, Hawk, and all the rest. You know who you are.

  3. Thank God this whole racism and equal rights thing has been solved.

Yes, James, Puffy really showed the youth out there how important it is to vote, because once you do you see the change for the better right away.

Is it me, or are we getting too sarcastic?  I think it’s just me…

  4. Hi Every-Expendable or not.

I always assumed that Condi was emotionally crippled and GWB was gay. Does that count?

To borrow a phrase from “The Incredibles” in this day and age saying that everyone is equal, really means that no one is.

hehe Don’t forget we still need to save the Males

  5. Hello JOS and Luna.

    More sarcasm planned for tomorrow…

  6. Hi James, JOS, Mickey and Luna…
Great article there Mickey. I get the sarcasm. I think that there can never be equality under a capitalistic system. Inequality is the foundation for the exploitation. Of all the women you list, I only have a comment about one. Martha Stewart is rich and has some problems but in her defense, I don’t think that she got a fair trial. I beleive that she was convicted of lying to a prosecutor....that in a country that just killed 650.000 based on lies. And that is worth noting because in the usa the court system usually gives special breaks to those with money.  On that topic, this morning on DN, Bill Quigley said, “You might as well put up a sign that says poor people do not enter.” He was referring to the victims in New Orleans and their difficulty in getting justice through the court system. I have very special respect for him. He is not only a hero to the victims of Hurricane Katrina but he contacted me from New Orleans after the Prosecutor announced that I would be retried.

  7. Hello RMJ. As usual, most readers seem to miss the satire. The comments I get on these articles are something else.

  8. Speaking of equality, capitalism, hypocrisy, and all that jazz...here’s the latest news about U2’s Bono:

  9. Great link there, Mickey. I love the Obama Campaign Slogans. Everybody needs to see them. They are great. About him...doesn’t anyone wonder why he is referred to as black. His mother I believe was white. If I had to choose, I would pick Al Sharpton. He, at least is colorful and also has a great sense of humor. If Al was in the White House the people would get to smile once in a while.

The big news today is about Hillary trying to explain why she voted for the war. She is really squirming, sadly I think that she might get away with the deception. It’s not too early to start backing Nader, Churchill, Angela or some other good candidate.

  10. Don’t worry, Rosemarie, those slogans will be up on this space tomorrow.

  11. That’s good, Mickey. You will be giving us something to smile about. It seems that no one ever smiles these days. Good healthy belly laughs are ever harder to come by.

At the Congressional hearing today, Iraq Veterans Against the War called for REPARATIONS FOR IRAQ !

  12. Well, here’s something to laugh at...although it’s not really funny:

Obama calls for “a revised foreign policy framework that matches the boldness and scope of Truman’s post-World War II policies.”

  14. Simultyping, Mickey-- I react to Obama’s statement the same way as to Puff Daddy’s: “What the hell does that even mean?”

    It means status quo, right?

  15. Hey MZ and Expendables, I’m here.

Fact: haven’t slept since Saturday. Catch you when I catch up on my sleep. Been busy.

  17. Hello Cat Lady…
    Welcome back, Keir…
    What’s up, David?

I noticed the black conservative didn’t mention the stats I posted yesterday:

    There are…
...471 white male prison inmates per 100,000 white males in the U.S.
...1,244 Hispanic male inmates per 100,000 Hispanic males
...3,145 black male inmates per 100,000 black males
