10 Reasons Why the White Supremacist Capitalist Patriarchal Culture (WSCPC) Won't be Toppled Soon

Posted by Mickey Z on 02/05 at 04:42 AM
  1. Reason #11 Holy shit.

Posted by Keir  on  from the hague 02/05  at  07:34 AM
  2. Keir, that made me laugh!

Morning all. Catching up - congrats rmj on the charges being dropped, though it would have been great to hear about the hell you would have given them in court.  Have I mentioned “aftershock” by pattrice jones to you? It is a book about dealing with trauma and the aftermath for activists. Mickey has a quote on the back, so I know he’s heard of it! Anyway, I’ve been reading it this weekend, and it is really good. You might enjoy it too.

Mickey, #6 is so true, or feels too true. And your reasons would be funny, except that they are actually realistic.  So sad.

It is cold here in virginia, and I’m looking forward to summer.

  3. This list is awesome. I think I’ll pass it out to everyone I see at work today. Um… no? But what does patriarchal mean, anyway? That advantages in society are stacked toward men? I’m still waiting for that to kick in, then…

  4. Reason # 12...Only those nations that have used nuclear weapons to kill civilians should be allowed to have them.

Good morning James, Deb, Keir, and Mickey.

Nader is on DN now. He says that if Hillary gets the nomination, he might run. He says that Al Gore cost him the election. I agree.

  5. The only thing I want to say about yesterday’s game is ask if anyone noticed how many of the commercials featured suicide?  Mass suicides, robots commiting suicide...etc.  People all around the US laughing...while jumping off a cliff just like in the commercials.

    captcha says ‘fall’...no shit.

  6. Hello Expendables...from an absolutely frigid Astoria.

  7. Me again…

    Great link, Keir.
Deb: Is pattrice’s book out already?
Cat Lady: What’s the latest with your newest feline?
RMJ: I think anyone who costs Al Gore any election should be proud (and that includes the Oscars and Nobel).
JOS: I muted the commercials but they did look violent.

Btw, does anyone think I’ve created a new term with the “AvAm” thing? On a few other sites, commenters are using it like it was already in standard use?

  11. G’Day Expendables. It is definitely winter in Eastern MA. Appreciating the change of seasons makes me old-fashioned. Or just old…

re: WSCPC:  We’re deep in brainwash territory - disbelief, hatred, mortal resistance: don’t take my WSCPC illusion from me. Like seeing an advanced Alzheimer’s patient for the first time, this can be shocking when held up to the light.(Is the animation above #1 Jay from the Kevin Smith movies? Snoogans.)

The IPCC report makes me reflect on the closed loop of Christian fundamentalist brainwash. Since the torching of the earth is a big part of rapture fables, even as the environment collapses, it will be seen as part of God’s Five Year Plan. Will people wake up if good christians are struck with disease or unnatural death ‘cause the biosphere is failing? Nope; either the victims truly weren’t godly material, or the suffering is God’s way of tormenting the rest of the flock for their own good. I’ve half a mind to write a book about the human imagination, focused on religion and corporate personhood...or maybe film a satirical nature documentary about the human animal that focuses on the same things. But such energies are probably better spent charting a course off of this continent.

SB 41: The exterior shot of the halftime chaos reminded me of the USO scene in “Apocalypse Now” - profiteering and spectacle in a war zone. The Coke commercial about Black History Month made me want to barf. Two black team owners in the SB, anyone???

Captcha sez “when.” I say “Don’t hold your breath.”

  12. I saw an American football game with a Brooklyn friend a couple of weeks back, Patriots and Jets maybe, though had to leave after 20 minutes. Anyone notice the graphic that bookends each instant replay? this CBS all-seeing eye accompanied by this weird, bassy/modulated rumbling sound, anyway, most unpleasant to hear every 45 seconds or so. I wondered what that would do to millions of people in a sleepily beery state. A friend of mine from Nice left as well, he said he didn’t know what he wanted, all his impulses were bustling at once, like he said “I watch that shit I want a beer I want a car I want a cigarette.”

A friend of mine from San Francisco returned to Barcelona just there, told me he’d been on his friends’ terrace in Brooklyn having and saw a window of a downstairs building shaking and someone screaming. They were on the poiunt og calling the cops to report a murder when they got a better look: it was one guy on his own in his salon looking at the Patriots/Jets game screaming “Yeah fuckin gettem killem allllllll!”

Third football anecdote: the Superbowl a couple of years ago had Paul McCartney singing the halftime break, and the lyrics sung during the most heavily-advertised few minutes of teevee space on the planet, in a country in the middle of a war, went like “You used to say life and let live / But in this everchanging world in which we live in / makes you give in and cry / Say live and let die”, talk about psy-ops on a massive scale.

  14. Yeah, Zen, that’s Jay.

Owen: Football is awfully violent. Lots of news on football-related concussions these days.

Welcome to the site, Pete. I don’t there’s much to “get.”

  15. You reason #11 made me laugh, too, Keir!  And I agree with James:  awesome list, Mickey.  On the other hand:  all your entries on this blog are awesome.

And hello to the other expendables on this comment thread:  Deb, Rosemarie, JOS, Pete Bogs, Zen Prole and Owen.

Extreme weather here:  yesterday, we had almost 100F, and today it is cool and windy, i.e. no more than 68F.  Not quite as frigid as Astoria, but then it is summer down under.  One of the consequences of climate change that I read about decades ago is, you guessed, such extreme weather conditions.  And in 2007, George W. and John (Howard) are still ‘climate skeptics.’

    Take care, all of you.

  18. mickey - i think pattrice’s book is out now; it looks available on lanternbooks’s site, anyway. i didn’t realize until a day or two ago that I must have gotten an advanced copy (through a friend - he just handed it to me and said it was his loan-out copy, and to pass it around). It is excellent, and I’ll be handing it off this weekend!

I’m going to listen to Pattrice talk at Bluestockings at the end of March. I am betting it will be awesome.

Posted by Deb  on  from NoVa 02/05  at  08:38 PM
  19. Since I’m assuming you mean the Bluestockings here in NYC, I’ll also try to make it to that talk, Deb.

  20. One of the superbowl coaches said it best last week. “Two black coaches in the superbowl is great but it will be better when it happens and nobody makes a big deal out of it” May not be an exact quote but that’s what he said more or less.

Isn’t it a big deal that most of the players are black and they made more money playing one game for a few hours than I’ll make all year. I’ll make more money this year than a guy working some dangerous job in a third world country will make his whole life.

    Captcha says “value”.

    Peace!

  22. How about because the White Capitalist Patriarchs actually get shit done, while everybody else just bitches and moans?

If you’ve got a better plan for an economy than a regulated free market system (e.g. Capitalism), that doesn’t require human beings to change their fundamental nature, I’d love to hear it.

Socialism only works if everyone is nice and willing to share and doesn’t game the system.  If people stop being nice and start gaming the system, it’s a complete disaster, just look at the results everywhere its been tried.

If people really gave a rats ass about helping the non-white non-male citizenry succeed, they’d mandate that every student who majored women’s studies or ethnic studies major had to have a second major in economics, pre-med, or engineering.

There are plenty of non-white students from non-capitalist countries filling the societally useful departments of our universities.  It’s just too bad more natural born Americans can’t follow their example, because complaining and learning how oppression has made you helpless is easier than learning calculus.

Prior to university, they’d make sure that every PUBLIC school in the country met a minimal standard of preparing them to be self-sufficient at a basic level by the time they got out of high school.  Oh yeah, it’s the families of the patriarchal capitalists who attend the PTA meetings to make their own neighborhood schools better, while those families who don’t make education a priority for their children suffer the obvious consequences.
And honestly Mickey Z, isn’t anarcho-syndicalism a little redundant at this point?  If the whole point of the exercise is to allow workers to control the means of production, and most American workers are knowledge or service workers, whose means of production is a computer and a network connection and some basic software, which are all affordable and usable to even minimum wage workers with minimal intelligence, then what’s left for you all to achieve?  Just because these workers are using the means of production under their control to look for internet porn and Paris Hilton news, doesn’t mean the goal hasn’t been reached.  It’s just that the destination isn’t what it’s supposed to be.

  23. Re #22

“...White Capitalist Patriarchs actually get shit done, while everybody else just bitches and moans? “

    Blame the victims?

White Capitalist Patriarchs certainly “get shit done” all right.  That’s why Capitalism is perpetuated.  Unfortunately it’s their shit that is getting done at the expense of those stupid people who, apparently through original sin, are condemned to bitch and moan.  Where is the context?  The system creates the disadvantged state of those living around it.  It’s White(Racist) Capitalist(Classist) Patriarchs(Sexists) that are the problem.  I wonder why people bitch and moan?

Sure wish the WCP’s used some of that “get shit done” attitude for the benefit of the poor folks who are still suffering from Katrina.

“If you’ve got a better plan for an economy than a regulated free market system (e.g. Capitalism), that doesn’t require human beings to change their fundamental nature, I’d love to hear it.”

Are you serious?  I wonder what the indigenous peoples of North America did before they “moved on”.  It must have been hell for them to sit around and wait for Columbus to get the ball rolling.

“Socialism only works if everyone is nice and willing to share and doesn’t game the system.  If people stop being nice and start gaming the system, it’s a complete disaster, just look at the results everywhere its been tried.”

Show me where Socialism was able to exist in this world unhampered by outside interference, and I’ll show you where Henry Kissinger was not vacationing.

“If people really gave a rats ass about helping the non-white non-male citizenry succeed, they’d mandate that every student who majored women’s studies or ethnic studies major had to have a second major in economics, pre-med, or engineering.”

Clearly the “people” (WCP’s?) don’t give a rats ass about helping the non-white, non-male (non-people?) citizenry succeed.  Thus the bitching and moaning. John, did you study economics, pre-med, or engineering and have a second major in women’s studies or ethnic studies?  What’s your point?

“There are plenty of non-white students from non-capitalist countries filling the societally useful departments of our universities.  It’s just too bad more natural born Americans can’t follow their example, because complaining and learning how oppression has made you helpless is easier than learning calculus.”

Of which of the long list of current non-capitalist countries do you speak of?  Other than Cuba( Boo! Hiss!), of course.

“...societally useful departments”?  Please, please, elaborate!  I reserve the right to call you an arrogant prick if my major is not a part of a “societally useful department”.  Of, course, I’ll only be calling you an arrogant prick out of principle.  I don’t think I can claim my major was “societally useful”.  It sure is paying the bills, though.

Geez, it’s so simple, really.  If only the oppressed would get over their oppression, pull themselves up from underneath the system and just learn some calculus, we could get on with being White Patriarchal Capitalists!

  24. At #22: “If the whole point of the exercise is to allow workers to control the means of production, and most American workers are knowledge or service workers, whose means of production is a computer and a network connection and some basic software . . . “

Horseshit. Like there was no such thing as corporate globalism. The workers who need to control the means of production are not American office workers, they’re toiling in fields or factories on the other side of the planet, earning nothing and destorying the ecosystems they live in.

“. . . which are all affordable and usable to even minimum wage workers with minimal intelligence, then what’s left for you all to achieve?”

Just because you sit on your thumbs staring at web porn on come souped-up pc with a fast internet connection, doesn’t mean the rest of the world wants to. What’s left to achieve is glaringly obvious to nominally observant people with a shred of decency. Oh, and

“Socialism" is no more an evil word than “Christianity.” Socialism no more prescribed Joseph Stalin and his secret police and shuttered churches than Christianity prescribed the Spanish Inquisition. Christianity and socialism alike, in fact, prescribe a society dedicated to the proposition that all men, women, and children are created equal and shall not starve.

  25. Hello, everyone!  Thank you, Keir.  Vonnegut has a way of putting things so succinctly as to easily blow away the most offensively self-involved right-wing oral flatulence.

That said, I wonder how much ‘John’ would “bitch and moan” if a death squad came to his home in the night, killed his wife and children in front of him, and carted him off for an extended torture vacation on behalf, of, say, a Chinese multinational corporation?  Would he be feeling so smug then?  But, of course, ‘John’ is sitting pretty, then, isn’t he?  He doesn’t think he’ll ever have to face the kind of deadly force that is wielded by the WSCPC, so he can afford to be smug and condescending.

Just wait until the bottom falls out of the empire, and the WSCPC starts to devour itself.  Nimrods like ‘John’ will be bitching and moaning about how all the non-white, non-male people are to blame for spoiling his imperialist keg party.

On an unrelated note, whatever the weather is like where Helga is, available evidence indicates that it results in friendly and thoughtful personalities.

  28. Good lord John. Why bother with these morons? They are hypocrites of the first order. They hate our country, our military and our economic system, yet are more than happy to use them for their twisted and hateful beliefs.

After suffering through the disgusting scene they put on in DC several weeks ago, I finally hate them at the same level of hate they have for my country.

  29. Thanks for posting MM.  A few questions from a moron.

How are the folks who post here hypocrites?

How do they use our country, our military, and our economic system for their twisted and hateful beliefs?

What exactly are their twisted and hateful beliefs?

Now is your chance to gather your facts and lay down your argument against the morons.  You have the floor.
