Way to go, Ralphie Boy

  1. Mickey and Fam—..been out of commission .. the past week doing triple family duty, caring for my elderly (91 and 89) year old parents who are now—each—in separate Nursing Homes in two different cities (due to individual health care issues.  My 87 year old widowed mother-in-law is also considering Assisted Living.  RoseMarie and Mickey,—I believe you’ve each shared parts of your own elderly parent trauma/challenges.. ANYWHOO - .....Yup—sometimes—one has to break the law........ while driving—nearly every day—we all go beyond the posted!  When banking and making deposits for joint accounts, we often “forge” our partner’s signature to cut down on run-around-time.  We sometimes share our prescription narcotics with our neighbor in pain—cause’ we’re helpful by nature—though we ain’t no MD, licensed to prescribe .. nor a Pharmacist, licensed to fill.  Sometimes we j-walk and litter during the same trip.  We circle around the “sample” tables two and three different times at Sam’s Club, Winn-Dixie—or Kroger’s .. just to “make sure” the first taste wasn’t a fluke… Besides—what the hell—it’s free and don’t seem to harm nobody! .. We fudge on our taxes by not reporting garage sale and misc cash income on the 1040 form .. We over-decibel on the “stoop” with our boombox—cause’ we’re sure everyone will learn to “love” VanHalen, if only they give it a try.. We horde overdue library and movie rental material—cause’ “they” have plenty more where these came from .. We rummage through the green garbage barrel at the post-office—looking for discarded mag subscriptions—and Harry and David catalogs—even though the attached mailing label identifys a “real” person whose identity we could steal—and/or rob the chump—if we were so inclined.  The address he/she left behind...is clearly marked—and jet-inked with all kinds of personal info.. We drive junker cars with burnt out catalytic convertors and leaking exhausts because it’s all we can afford ?!?  Yup—free societies—demand respect for the law to avoid chaos and anarchy.  Think of that—the next time you eat or borrow for free—speed—under-report your annual income—as you j-walk - litter - pollute on your next shopping excursion… and Oh—make sure your cigatette butt is really out .. before you flick it out the window (smile). AS FOR RALPH WALDO .. AND HENRY DAVID—GIVE ME “real”—street tuff philosophers like Lucious Johnny Valiant, Bobby the Brain—or Jesse the Body Ventura .... == http://tinyurl.com/26l5f9 == http://tinyurl.com/af79o == http://tinyurl.com/274j2o == http://tinyurl.com/yom4vg == index to vids: 1) Lucious Johnny from the “Sopranos” .. 2) MN Governor Jesse the Body Ventura 3) Interviews by Johnny—The Brain—and The Body .. of person in the audience—in VEGAS NO LESS… (smile) .. Even Vince McMahon makes an mc cameo .. before he stole his dad’s rasslin’ company!!!!

  3. Good morning Mickey and Richie… Even before I saw today’s front page here at Mickey’s, I was thinking of how much better the world would be if children were taught in schools that there are some laws that should be broken - and that is one reason that I believe that the public school system should be abolished and replaced with many diverse publically funded private systems. We have to get the government out of education the same way that HMOs need to be eliminated from health care.
I know that most here do not watch partisan politics, and I understand why, so I’ll give the brief update on last night’s debate. Kucinich is the only candidate who wants out of Iraq now, and also the only one who really supports health care for all. The others all finessed those issues. Too bad that Kucinich lost his credibility during the last campaign season by joining back with the dems. In my opinion Hillary won the debate by a slight margin, because her dental cosmetics were the best, and everyone in the usa knows that its all about cosmetics and external appearances. Today Drudge is reporting in their poll the Obama comes in first with Kucinich in a tie for second place. That’s very interesting.
I get a lot of criticism for paying attention to the mainstream - but if you want to clean out the pig pen, you have to see what’s in it first and figure out why so many others do not see the same thing.

  4. Hi James...We were symultyping. Yes, I agree. Impeachment trivializes the crimes. About Cindy - I like her, even though she is going for Impeachment instead of War Crimes Trials. She is very sincere and dedicated.

My captcha word is “over”. It’s all over but the wailing.

  5. RMJ..3..Education in America

Rule No. 1 Obey all Rules

Rule NO. 2 Refer to rule No. 1

The teacher said, “joe, you didn’t complete your homework”, joe said, “what the hell does that have to do with anything”

Teacher threatens with legal crap...go to next class, he threatens me over what happen in previous class and tells me what he will do if the same thing happens in his class...I will get knocked down...joe’s father says the same thing will happen to teacher...how crazy is what we call education...the snake pit.

  6. Hello Expendables. Very nice weather for July here in NYC.

Ain’t it funny how when Nader or Cindy run for office, they are displaying “egotistical” or “narcissistic” behavior but folks like Hillary, Obama, Rudy, et. al are clearly acting out of a sense of duty to help America?

Maybe I should run in 2008?

  7. Impeachment...How in the hell can anyone be aware of the enormity of crimes committed...international tribunals verdicts not even mentioned in most activists writings, including the articles in CounterCock. The question is why are so many people propping up this corrupt hierarchy with a punk chicken sodomist at the top? Why are more powerful people obeying the laws of this medieval system? Are there no exceptions?

Just to keep the crowd quiet, passive, dormant?
What the hell is wrong with americans, we’re like programmed zombies! Step 1, Step 2, never deviate. We’re simply not talking, I mean really talking, we’re not connecting like we need to. We’re not feeling our pain, which is the same...a fellow feeling, we are the same, unless we enable the messages of a completely corrupt, toxic society to program our thoughts and behavior, numb our feelings and becoming physiologically atrophied.

Prosecution has only 1 more syllable than impeachment...are we that lazy? Is our arrogance the same as the criminals, we deny international organizations whose verdict is guilty of every damn law established to try to maintain some kind of civility...oh yes, we’ve never had that. Perhaps we need to start again and demand prosecution of war crimes and include all accomplices. As I have said before, the word prosecution might have an alarm effect on the living dead referred to as decision makers, here in Israel and elsewhere there are people who want to control others and by brute force.

  10. Cindy was banned from Daily Kos?  They just confirmed everything I thought about them.

  11. joe #5...Yes, it IS a snake pit and only the very far right wants to end it and replace it with private systems. Unfortunately they don’t want universal access and public funding. The big tragedy is that little children with their young developing minds are so easy to teach. I often referred to the phenomena as “exploding minds”. The brain of a 2 or 3 year old is amazing in its capacity to learn.

Richie...sorry to hear about the sadness that you experienced 33 years ago and remember today and every day. I DO remember what I was doing 33 years ago. I was working my many summer jobs in an attempt to support my little family.

Mickey #6...And those attacks are always ad hominem and NEVER deal with the issues. Can I be your Campaign Manager? Please. I’d even abandon Ward and Ralph for you. I’ve already got campaign slogans running through my head. “ELECT THE Z MAN”!

JOS...I never did understand the Daily KOS.

  13. Back to Ralph Waldo Emerson and H.D. Thoreau...who read these books in high school. I didn’t. No one even mentioned them.

I wouldn’t have ‘gotten it’ if I had read them in high school. Some people have told me their writings were required reading during their high school years.

Could they have understood the writings of these 2 authors at that age. Perhaps some. Were there teachers, parents who could help readers understand their life, socio, political critiques. Would they have understood Thoreau’s intuitions, insights when he saw technology, i.e.,steam locomotives, used recklessly?

I liked trains...I would not have understood building a railway without thought and what was considered the shortest route for economics sake...whose economics? Certainly not the forests and the life community of the forest. What could I have known...I was just a stupid teenager who grew up in america.

    Prosecute first...impeach later.

  16. I’m closing up again at CO - it’s 12:35AM EST on Wednesday.

Impeachment vs. prosecute: I say both, but the clock is running out on impeachment. I’m glad that Cindy Sheehan will challenge Pelosi, who has raised the bar for mediocrity (my metaphor-checker just broke). A criminal trial is also a smashing idea, though I am not aware of courts ever honoring lawsuits against high officials (see Ramsey Clark, et.al, vs. G.H.W. Bush, et. al., 1991). It seems that the rulers and owners have their Emerson and Thoreau down pat...or, patted down.

The Ward Chronicles: Colorado is a bloody fascist stronghold (just look at their state seal http://tinyurl.com/23rou4 ), but Ward is right that it’s a “new game.” As tawdry as it was, the process thus far was within the UC system. Now, it’s a much larger venue and I understand he’s got some fiery allies sharpening their legal knives. When some of these provincial hacks risk perjury or worse when their actions are fully explored in a legal framework, watch their tune change. Depending on the breaks, there will likely be a hefty settlement headed Ward’s way. It ain’t the First Amendment or academic freedom, but turnabout is fair play...which is more than UC deserves.

  17. Firing Churchill is clearly designed to deter other critics. The floodgates are open and it’s open season on dissent.
