  1. MZ and fam ... Just returned from a whirlwind visit to my 2 living parents—91 and 89—in 2 distinct Nursing Homes—2 different cities—go figure --Where will we “keep” we baby-boomers—if the WW I - 20’s and 30’s gen already fills up the declining # of bedspaces (read shortage .. !!) with waiting lists that already exists??  Oh well—Michael Moore—his star has flickered—thanks to blogeroos like we ya-hooos! here at Mickey Z’s .... Mikey quit jr college—in MI—not Flint—by the by—(but a middle-class suburb near Flint—I’ve seen the house)—picked out the emerging technology for the 80’s—personal—hand held video cams—created a story-line—“Roger and Me” and sold the “docudrama” .. as a DOCUMENTARY !! ... During the 90’s he politicized his clever style into mass-media success by creating cornmeal for the masses .. WRITING BOOKS—GIVING SPEECHES—TV—RADIO—COLLEGE LECTURES—a real hoot of an ENTERPRISE made in the good ole ‘ “CAPITALISTIC USA” .... that he handsomly profits from BASHING .. Ain’t it ironic?  Mickey Z, Joe of Maine, RoseMarie—Hell’s Kitchen Man—and yours truly—use today’s tech gadgets—blogs—youtube—net columns and essays—comments to media—etc—but the world of 2007—8/8—to be exact—is so “media” fractured ... that over-night success is just that --YESTERDAY’S NEWS-- and for that matter—so is Michael Moore !!  *******WATCH**********as My Generation fades into the sunset .. and u tu be will get the drift of what I’m trying to say .......smile http://tinyurl.com/24vezf

  2. Well theres Shawn Brant of Tyendinaga.  Not very well known in international circles but a powerful advocate of change for first nations here in canada. If someone were to ‘take him out’ there would be a war declared.  It would get ugly.
blood ties family ties tribal ties can make all the difference when it comes to having ‘back up’.
    my grammar really sux....oh well.

  3. Hello Expendables...from a sauna-like NYC. Welcome back, Richie.

Frances: I’m not familiar with Shawn Brant.

  5. Hi Mickey, frances, richie, and all…
Here’s what I think....We don’t have to wonder what would happen if one of the real left came under fire, just look at what’s happened to Ward Churchill. The silence of those who share his view is amazing. Sometimes people are afraid of being “identified” with a person under attack. I was lucky during my little saga only because I really had not done much. Standing in silence does not offend as many as speaking the “E” word.

Here’s my review of last night’s AFL/CIO presidential debate. I know most here didn’t watch it. I must admit that I was impressed with Kucinich. He was correct on all of the answers that he gave. Most here would agree with what he said. He said a lot, including that in his first week in office he would notify Canada and Mexico that we are no longer in NAFTA. Too bad he is a Democrat. Too bad the Press won’t give him a fair shake. Too bad he is short - that offends voters. Too bad voters are stupid.

  6. RMJ...5...If I am elected president, the first thing I will do is end all taxation and give back all taxes to each and every citizien, except for the wealthy people.

The next thing I will...I will personally repave all the nations highway and pay for this out of my pocket.

The next thing I will do is prosecute the entire medical, insurance profession...I will prosecute and deport them all.

The next thing I will do is develop an excuse for doing none of the above...perhaps, national emergency...or the money printing presses are out of order...I will then repeat same cycles of insanity that has existed for 250 years...no one will notice until 20 years after out of office.

The toys on the wire above the playpen are capturing attention...if we had real human relations, unions would not be necessary at all.

  7. Hello RMJ. The Churchill affair surely exposed the left (sic) for what it is.

Thanks for the links, Frances. I’ll check them out ASAP.

Joe, you said if we had real human relations, unions would not be necessary at all. Excellent point. As I once wrote:

“If the United States of America is the world’s shining light, why are its citizens compelled to organize movements to protect human, environmental, and animal rights?”

  8. Mickey...I agree. The Left has been exposed.

joe...if elected president the first thing I would do is increase taxes to 100% on ALL income over $100,000.
I realize that many here find the current political system repugnant. So do I. Maybe we have not yet evolved enough to have a better system. Things are as they are. It is, what it is. If anyone can change things, maybe it will be joe.

  9. RMJ..8..well, we were looking at the miner problem in Utah..apparently a number of people are trapped 1500 feet below the surface...And I worried about being stuffed into an MRI.

And furthermore, the divisions between management and labor wouldn’t exist fore there would be no distinctions. If we want walnuts, it is of no value to think about Drano.

The system we have is due to the outward manifestation of crazy people...I’m crazy, I’m just not a socio-path...but then again, some people might criticize me for other things. They might feel they understand a certain characteristic about myself, that I don’t understand about myself. Real human relations would look at this in a very healthy way and see it as opportunity to gain some wisdom...our programming does not include this insight...too many buttons are pushed too easily.

If I knew how to change things...and for who, since I don’t seem to be doing a terrific job with my own life! So maybe I am Re and with other notes we might develop a composition, an idea...whatever this might be?

  10. joe...Thanks - about the miners - that news story is important to me since both of my grandfathers came from Poland to this country to mine coal.

I agree with your view of the way things should be. The problem is: if you are drowning in a sea of excrement, thinking about a refreshing rain forest won’t help - then again, maybe I am wrong. Nothing will help. BUT, just maybe if we continue to resist, resistance will become programmed into our genes, and maybe 1000s of years from now, the good guys will finally win. (I know that you don’t like the idea of one winning over the other, but isn’t all of this sort of a struggle of good vs evil?)

  11. RMJ...10...good over eeevil? Politically, I guess that’s what’s happening. I think we need to be in the moment, but we can’t get trapped in the moment, cause that moment will continue. If I was in a sea of excrement and socio-politically I am, then yes, I would have to think of an alternative and a rain forest would be a very nice one to consider and strive for. If everyone left the system, there would be few left, or we could fight the system, then we’re all in the system, actually giving violence strength.

If we are to simply fight, good against evil, are we’re doing it the correct way...and will we be limiting ourselves to a fixed position, still with THEM...not realizing our potential.

As it is...nothing is really happening...so we might as well think about creating a community that is not as dependent on the mainstream, the governments agents, and we can still have time to at least speak out against the deciders.

We might have to consider which is easier, removing them or moving ourselves. If we only remove them, we are still left with our innate need to transcend all this crap we have experienced. The man said, if I don’t like a movie, I get up and leave the theatre!

  12. Joe, I really like the way you think.  Thank you for taking the time to type write it out.
All i seem to have the energy for these days is pointing...at what other people are saying and or doing.

Posted by frances  on  from bc 08/08  at  11:43 PM
  13. Frances 12...Thank You Frances...since I am alone without the community I talk about...it is hard for me to do the ‘work’ on myself..by myself..so it is easy for me to slip...and go into the pointing mode also...I strongly feel we are more social beings than generally thought, more cooperative, empathic beings...to return to our true nature is the ‘work’, I feel we must do...even after the regime would be overthrown, and by who, would be interesting to think about...we’re still left with finding the truth within the false. Some teachers talked about humans being mechanical because we go into a less conscious mode of behavior, repetitious behavior of modern??? societies...the mechanisms of coerced participation, reinforced by fear…
