I responded to Blum stating I didn’t need more ‘reminders’ of how bad things are...prior to scanning his report, I listened to my neighbor tell me about her being raped recently. This was after having a conversation at the coffee shop about abusive authorities, the morning after someone reminded me to meditate, to relax from the stimuli of the violent, murderous society we were born into.
Occasionally I have wondered what if I had a life if my grandparents had stayed in N.W. Italy and my one grandmother in France. Perhaps I wouldn’t be?
But I would in some form. Maybe it would be worst?Mickey, I was just being silly about Drew Barrymore starring with Sidney Portier in ‘Band of Angels, which I thought was a better version of life on plantations than Clark Kent’s ‘Gone with the Wind’

I lost interest quickly, watching this thing go in circles, forwards, backwards. I also went in circles. I have always like trains, but we really never needed them in my opinion. I don’t think Thoreau thought much of trains either.

Not a great deal will jump out at you about troop build up in Africa.I know someone from Brunswick, naval air station who went to Somalia, but the build up is all over and obviously, we’re supporting corrupt regimes who will share the u.s. pillow. So...is Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan the smokescreen for dirtier deeds yet to control the entire continent of Africa. I might be late with this awareness, just another detail about the fascists in our ‘home town’. There might need to be a spreading of a word during casual conversation and hope it spreads. We must create diversions.

Today I had a very interesting conversation with an old friend. He was framed. He is now disbarred - lost his law license and has spent time in prison. He says that even if “they” restored his license to practice, he would not. He now knows how corrupt the legal system is and he does not want to be a part of it.

No one in this xenophobic debate ever mentions that maybe it would be a good thing if those coming from Mexico and Haiti were treated the same as those coming from Cuba.
