"CPR for Dummies"
CONGRATULATIONS, Mickey ! What an achievement! I often hit the wall at 500 words.
Posted by RMJ on from Mickey Z 4 Prez Hdqts 12/01 at 04:08 PMThanks, RMJ. What makes it cooler is that our old Expendable friend Mudge pushed me to participate in National Novel Writing Month and this is the result.
Posted by Mickey Z. on from Astoria 12/01 at 05:09 PMI once had to know how to ‘perform’ CPR. I was a dummy working in the medical profession.
If you read any of Layla Anwar’s words, you know she hates the Cockburn’s and Chomsky. Maybe she feels she’s living war, human atrocity and not simply talking about it?
While reading her latest words, I thought of who draws attention and why. To some people Bush might be a leader, to the opposite, there are people who are viewed as role models, enlightened ones, etc. I have always been drawn toward the Gurdjieff crowd, Krishnamurti, to name a couple, there are More.
Sports, the music world, actors, religious figures, etc., have their followers. Is this all in place of who we are and who we are not, have not realized in ourselves, do not seen more acutely the entirety of our very own experience, whle trying to learn?......

Q: What do Mickey Z and Kerouac have in common?
Hint: it sure aint their politics.
Posted by Tommy on from I live by the River 12/01 at 07:34 PMMZ, can’t wait to anti-read your anti-novel. It will go well with anti-living in an anti-society. (Note: I will not anti-buy it - have started saving my nickels already.)
A nippy 12F is projected for Eastern MA tonight, and I see RMJ is looking at a nine-spot. If I only had some patriotism to keep me warm…

Ans: Each is an iconoclast. Each challenges conventional literary form.
And, finally, each penned what became his first published novel while residing in the beckoning Borough of Queens, NY.ok,I’m a geek. sorry!
Hey, RMJ. Caught part of your interview yesterday.
Nice work!ZP...5…
Patriotism is like the artificial log...perhaps warming, but oh so toxic.Posted by Tommy on from I live by the River 12/02 at 07:23 AMThanks, Tommy.
Posted by Mickey Z. on from Astoria 12/02 at 07:46 AMTommy...6...Patriotism is another characteristic I’ve never related to. Blood is thicker than the truth is another...when I was young, I routed for the team that was interesting, it was seldom ‘my home’ team. Allegiance...the other family was more curious, religions didn’t feel right, didn’t feel honest, handing out candy bars to everyone and skipping 1 person for whatever reason, witch hunts, lynching people for being different, victimizing the victim, not wanting to die for the presidents games...should we consider becoming conscious?
Posted by joe of maine on from 12/02 at 10:15 AMMickey-- your announcement makes me very happy-- it is so rewarding to be one of your fans ahead of the curve!
Best wishes!

Let me be precise and direct...prosecute Ashcroft!
Posted by joe of maine on from 12/02 at 03:07 PMHi Robert and Mickey-the-author…
Thanks, Tommy #6. I was impressed with the host. Sometimes interviews like that are set up as an ambush. I am not in agreement with some of the 9/11 conspiracy theorists. Disagreeing with some of them can be brutal, but yesterday the host was very impressive. I liked him. I think he avoided the 9/11 topic as a courtesy to me, which was not necessary. I don’t mind discussing it. It can be an interesting topic when everyone keeps their cool.
Zen...yes, it looks like we will get a little snow tonight. Today the grocery store was jammed -running out of bread etc. It was kind of funny.
joe, maybe the information below can help someone you know. Maybe Richie???

Hey, No balance on your site. How can the reader believe there is intellectual honesty to what your advocating with balance? You have major credabilty problems. To address them would require humility (not humilation) and a open mind. Where do I see that on your site or, for that matter, in your other writings?
Thanks.
