Barack Obama meets the Black Panthers
BRAVO, MICKEY ! Great front page. I will send the link to some of those who need to be informed with the real facts.
Posted by RMJ on from Mickey Z 4 Prez Hdqts 02/22 at 08:31 AMThough I will need to ‘garner’ the support from James...I think prosecution of obama is necessary. The states and central government, the american business man, are the largest liability to this planet.
Posted by joe of maine on from 02/22 at 10:11 AMHi joe...I agree. It is kind of interesting to watch. News of the many hypocrisies have even reached the Mainstream news system but it is not having any effect. Voters are still afflicted with the “anybody but a Green, Socialist, Independent, Communist, or honest leader”. Maybe it is the voters who need to be prosecuted - but predatory ignorance is not against the law.
Posted by RMJ on from Mickey Z 4 Prez Hdqts 02/22 at 11:18 AMThanks for the Obama quotes, Mickey! I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen anyone other than Hillary or McCain say anything even remotely cautionary about this man.
And btw, is anyone else sick and fucking tired of seeing those goddamn Shepard Fairey posters everywhere? As if you could convince large masses of people just by repeating one-word slogans over and over . . . oh wait, it seems to work every time.
Amerigo #1: Uh, so what’s so great about Obama?
Amerigo #2: Change, Progress, and Hope, duh. Haven’t you seen his posters?
Amerigo #1: Oh, right. Excellent point.
I can’t wait to see how viciously the liberals attempt to censor us the first time we criticize President Obama for increasing the troop level in Iraq. “Oh, just give him more time—he’s just pretending to be militaristic so he can gain enough support from the centrists to get reelected in 2012!”
Posted by jason @ friendlyagitate.net on from GREENPOINT 02/22 at 11:21 AMHi Jason...I agree. If Obama wins, it will end 99% of the anti-war movement. (I know there is NO movement now, but maybe someday.)
Off topic...China is refusing U$A food imports. US food is too risky.
Also...The plan to put all medical records on the Internet is going to create more problems than it will solve. Even now, medical records are not held as confidential. Computerizing them will make it worse.Posted by RMJ on from Mickey Z 4 Prez Hdqts 02/22 at 11:29 AMHello Expendables...from a very snowy Astoria. Great to “hear” Jason’s voice again. Even greater to be among folks not hypnotized by Obama’s mantras.
I took a lot of heat in 1996 for not supporting Bubba, in 2000 for opposing Gore, in 2004 for hating on Kerry, so I’m gearing up for tons of emotional, irrational, delusional bullshit when I take on the motivational speaker masquerading as a lefty.
Posted by Mickey Z. on from Astoria 02/22 at 11:40 AMJust donated to your campaign. I am so tired of the same old shit every minute of every day. Go Mickey. I’m going to spread the word and see how much “Change” the people really want.
Posted by David on from Louisville KY 02/22 at 11:46 AMMickey..6..the motivational, celebrity nature of osama is exactly what will attract the children watching him dangle on the wire above the playpen..how entertaining he is, he takes my mind off my hatred for my family, he reminds me of the barker at the shooting gallery, he’s like a rock star without an axe, he reminds me of an emotional human rights activist, I thought I saw him on Beale St...and on. captcha says stop...I take this personally...(<;...sorry for the smile!
Posted by joe of maine on from 02/22 at 12:28 PMWell put, Joe...extremely well put. And thanks David...for the comment and the donation. Much appreciated.
Posted by Mickey Z. on from Astoria 02/22 at 12:29 PMSpeaking of presidential campaigns:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080222/ap_on_el_pr/naderPosted by Mickey Z. on from Astoria 02/22 at 01:21 PMYes Joe and everyone, Obama should be prosecuted or otherwise somehow made be known for the phony progressive liberal that he is. It’s very frustrating at work when people get so excited at each state OB wins, how enthused they are that he could defeat Billary, and how it just feels too awkward to really start engaging anyone in meaningful discussions about why I don’t want to support him.
Partly because I’m still not sure how I’d answer “well who would you vote for.” I mean I guess Ralph Nader or Cynthia McKinney if either runs, but I kinda wish maybe someone younger than Ralph, something I just don’t know.
I guess I’ll tune in to Meet the Press…
Posted by James on from Hell's Kitchen 02/22 at 01:36 PMJames..11...it’s ‘illegal’ to talk politics where I wark...but I would start by saying...look at where america is, where is has been, why would anyone want to continue to 3rd rate play? I can only say we need to move beyond the theatrics as a front for the power mongers...starting a new society cannot include such a repressive, oppressive system, every 4 years the knight on the white horse changes clothes, every 4 years, voting becomes a diversion from our down-trodden lives, worst than a bagel break...why cannot we see beyond that which has made this planet a complete disgrace...then I would pause for a commercial, pass gas and ask each person...what do you think?
Posted by joe of maine on from 02/22 at 01:45 PMCan a Bush dance?
http://tinyurl.com/232aucPosted by Mickey Z. on from Astoria 02/22 at 02:03 PMthat is painful to watch…
I wonder what kind of effect (if any) having a black person as president would have on racism in the USA. This is such an image obsessed society that it would be interesting to observe what would happen. Sure, he will be the same as any other president as far as his policies go...but still, interesting.
Posted by JOS on from Oak Park 02/22 at 06:15 PMIn school we were taught that politics is “who gets what when where and how.”
(Some people get it right between the eyes.)
But then, there are other views:
I don’t really keep up with Barackamania; no question many get hope from his campaign. They are weary, and are looking for possibilities for a change in direction… a good one. I hope they are there.
I am cynical, and can’t predict the future.
I am thrilled listening to Cynthia McKinney; and always hang on to every word from Nader.
If there is to be a good future it will involve all of us working for something positive. That is politics too.
I enjoy reading and following everyone’s posts.
Posted by Robert B. Livingston on from San Francisco, California 02/22 at 06:37 PMI join Rosemarie: BRAVO, MICKEY! Another great post. I was aware of some of the facts and statements coming from Obama but you have enlightened me more.
Hi to Rosemarie (like this: ‘predatory ignorance is not against the law’), Joe of Maine, Jason, David, James, JOS, Robert B. Livingston and the COOL OBSERVER of course.
#6: ‘the motivational speaker masquerading as a lefty’: priceless, Mickey!
Rosemarie #5: ‘Also...The plan to put all medical records on the Internet is going to create more problems than it will solve.’ Won’t that make it even easier for anti-choice zealots to harass and even kill abortion providers, to give but one example?
And yet more slightly tedious typing awaits - at least it is notes handwritten by me, so that will make it easier to read ..
Have a good weekend, each and everyone of you!

Posted by Richie on from St Cloud - N Ft Myers FL 02/23 at 09:06 AMWelcome back, Richie. We’ve missed you and I’m sure I speak for all Expendables when I tell you how sorry I am to hear of your losses. I too am currently learning unimaginable lessons in grief so I won’t even try to “say the right thing” to you. I just hope you can find some peace in hanging with us here.
Posted by Mickey Z. on from Astoria 02/23 at 09:16 AMRichie...you have been missed and thought about every day.
A friend just called on the phone and asked me who he should vote for on March 4th. It always makes me smile when I get requests like this. It happens frequently, just before election day. I confess here, that I am considering doing the unthinkable - ONLY in the Primary. (Vermont has an open Primary so voters can vote in any Party.) If Ron Paul is the only anti-war candidate on any of the ballots, in keeping with my conscience, I just might vote for him. I DO NOT AGREE WITH HIM ON ANY OTHER ISSUE, and think that his domestic policies are dangerous. However, he has not been given a fair shot by the media. He is definately an underdog and will not win. Writing in candidates such as Nader in the General Election is effective. Writing-in during a Primary will result in a vote counted, but not publicly reported. There is a method to my madness.
Nader is on tomorrow morning. Rumor has it that he will announce. I don’t know, but I am hoping.
Posted by RMJ on from Mickey Z 4 Prez Hdqts 02/23 at 02:47 PMYesterday, I criticised the plan to computerize medical records. This just appeared on Drudge.
