The Keith Moon Conundrum

Posted by Mickey Z on 06/26 at 04:24 AM
  1. Nice poem, Mickey.

Good morning all from a cold, rainy New England.

Is anyone here following the Nader/Obama “talking white” controversy? In reality, Nader would be the nation’s first black president. After all, he is the only one who really is supporting black/white/yellow/tan/red issues that oppose the corporate power structure.

  2. Good Morning Mickey & RMJ...It’s very pleasant here on the coast of Maine, Sun is very hot, we’ve had a decent amount of rain in past week so everything is very green, lush.

I’m having a problem with slugs, real slugs, the kind that eat, kill plants. I’m using the container of beer trick, it works and I actually feel bad for killing...slugs [why did my mind just wander to politicians?]

Obama’s website comment is something about changing washington if he’s elected...does he have any intentions of changing america or just washington? So how the hell does he define change and every president for the last 2 million years has made the same promise...well I’ve been forgetful recently also…

  3. As the esteemed political philosopher Jon Bon Jovi once crooned: “It’s all the same. Only the names have changed.”

  4. joe...when I woke this mornin’, the woodchuck was sitting on the front step watching the world go by. Today I think he smiled at me, but I did not smile back. A couple of days ago I lugged concrete blocks and built a wall of sorts to inconvenience him, but......
Good luck with the slugs...what a way to go.

Mickey...that’s it - only the names will be changed after the election.

  5. Enormo-Dome Payback: Lawyers won’t be any help when the planetary hotel tab comes due.

    Today’s haiku:
    Long faces, platform
    Scattered crowd, train approaching
    Funeral commute?

Obama is whiter than my gym socks. And in the latest Hahvahd Law Review (one of his grooming-to-rule salons) an article examines meritocracy. Gender vs. race, it seems. No ####in’ mention of class. Also from the current issue: “Inequality is a core feature of American criminal justice, but its causes remain obscure.” Captcha sez ‘figures.’

  6. Before I become parallel with the floor...I’ll share my music for this evening...Anja Lechner-piano, Vassillis Tsabropoulos- cello. Music by Thomas DeHartmann and G.I.Gurdjieff

Joe: Are you making up fake names again?

  9. So much going on-- but would like to mention a house concert that I hope some will find interesting. Tune in Saturday.

Steve Durr - beautiful music from Alaska:

His album ‘Susitna Summer’ falls into that that rare category:  every track is perfect.

Maria Gilardin (TUC Radio) is surrounded by wildfires in Mendocino County-- it is heartbreaking.  I am hoping her new home survives.

  11. Bartender, one Arctic Ocean, neat: watch for the superrich to outdo each other to see whose uber-yacht first sails the North Pole. Case of beer for the first former-Soviet sub captain who takes a dim view of it.

5-7-5: MZ, I haven’t haiku’d in a long time. That tableau as I rolled by a commuter rail station was remarkable. The long faces are everywhere…

  12. And a good morning from Daylesford, Australia, where it is a cool 50F but not damp and greetings to Rosemarie, Joe of Maine, Mickey, Zen Prole and Robert B. Livingston.

I ALWAYS like it what I see on this blog, Cool Observer - or have I said this before?

Have a good weekend, all of you!
