Mickey Z.: The Movie

Posted by Mickey Z on 08/11 at 03:58 AM
  1. Mickey! (Hooray!)

Your delivery was a bit New York fast, but you hit a nice stride midway towards the end.

What a great pleasure actually hearing you speak many of your ideas.

Here in San Francisco-- we are so happy to say that we pulled an iron out of the fire last Friday getting Cindy Sheehan on the ballot-- it wasn’t supposed to happen.  Even up to the last few hours it seemed that everything that could go wrong did-- but San Franciscans still pulled through for her.

Cindy has always been talking about taking action—lately, maybe a nationwide strike perhaps?

We have to do something to kick Empire in the balls. Electing Cindy is a good start.

There seems to be a synchronicity of like minds in the air-- and like minds have a great wordsmith on our side!

Thanks Mickey-- and Maxwell for filming!

I’m ending my day as y’all are beginning yours-- may it be a great day!

  2. Thanks, Robert. When you have time, perhaps you can add the YouTube links to my Wiki page?

  3. hi there

‘enjoy’ is not the correct word but it was good to see your talk.

also, what about these for your upcoming election that john pilger memorably described as nothing more than ‘flags, balloons and bullshit’

the first one i got from the culture ghost, the second i can’t remember

  5. Good afternoon all! Nice comments so far. If anyone is in a commenting kind of mood I can think of another place you could do that. Can you guess?

GO TO YOUTUBE RIGHT NOW AND COMMENT ON THESE VIDEOS!

I’m so subtle. Back in a bit.
    xoxo

  6. Seems to be a comment shortage everywhere these days.

  7. Some context on the Russia-Georgia situation:

  8. Between the light and sound of MZ at the mike and Cindy Sheehan on the ballot, a great post today. I loved the upright bass and the nod to The Expendables - we’re almost famous. And the multiple choice about helping someone sounds better than it reads. Many thanks to Maxwell for making history.

This is especially welcome because it was a tough weekend for art. Bernie Mac and Isaac Hayes gone, both far too young. Bernie’s standup was crisp and pure http://tinyurl.com/5df9n5 and Isaac Hayes is partly responsible for any good taste I have in music. The famous Shaft theme isn’t even the best part of the soundtrack. http://tinyurl.com/25dea2

Hello to Expendables near and far.

  9. I tried posting a comment on the videos...not sure if it took.

  10. Thanks, JOS and Zen. I’m dreaming of a gathering at which many Expendables attend. Btw, where’s RMJ and Joe?

  11. I still can’t believe people fall for that “raise your hand if you’re a non-conformist” line.  I caught on the first time I heard you say it.

Done-- hope it helps (and stays).
Now will you get a favicon?

    Love your truism!

  14. I’m all with Robert B. Livingston: Thanks, Mickey and Maxwell, for filming!  And good to read that San Franciscans have pulled through or Cindy McSheehan.

And hello, michael from Scotland, Maxwell Black, Zen Prole, JOS and Charles from Daylesford, where the sun has finally come out after a few rainy days.

Thanks for providing some context on the Russia-Georgia situation, Mickey #7.  Did you and all the other expendable also scratch their heads when they heard GWB exhorting Russia to respect Georgia’s territorial sovereignty?  What about Iraq?? - was my first thought ..

  15. Mickey #10: ‘I’m dreaming of a gathering at which many Expendables attend.’ So am I, Mickey - preferably NYC or San Francisco, but then Chicago would not be half bad either .. And if any expendable ever comes to Australia, they are more than welcome to call in in Daylesford.

  16. Talking of comments and commenting, Mickey, can you enable trackbacks on your blog? Or get a plug in or whatever?

I did one to Maxwell’s blog and it made me realize that you don’t have them here. It’s where you make a post on your own blog then send a ping to the original post here. Then the link pops up in the comments section.

Like commenting with a whole article of your own, but it doesn’t spam out the comments section. And it allows reading to surf into like minded blogs.

Also, maybe you do have them and I have eyesight/over excitment problems smile

Okie, off to comment at youtube.

  17. Oh Andy, I’m really sorry, I thought that was spam and deleted it! You can repost, my fault.

Re:dreaming of a gathering etc...Have any of you ever been to DC? My next personal project is to organize a talk for MZ in DC sometime before the “election.”

If anyone has interest or suggestions:

a big goodnight hug to all. Thanks for playing Mickey, I’ll give you progress report in a couple of days.

  18. Hey, here’s another event that looks exciting:

    http://www.acgreens.org/debate

Think there’ll be much disagreement at that debate or will the choir preach to itself? Wish it was being held around here so I could see…
