It's our choice
morning mick.. my body has been down for repair since monday. being out of circulation for 4 daze has prompted me to choose nature over carnal pleasure and convenience !
Posted by richie from st james city fl on 06/18 at 06:43 AM- drug free water to drink or a four hour erection?
(I was reading about all the pharmeceuticals being pissed into our water supply)
Posted by JOS from Chicago on 06/18 at 09:01 AMjos aquanomics is where my dart lands as a hyper concern. the chicago river ... the mississippi liquify us multiple times a day… one ecobomb and whack $$$$$@ we r thirting for survival… the desparate will kill for aqua~~~~~~ ...watter water everywhere and not a drop to drink… ~~~~~~~~~
Posted by richie from st james city fl on 06/18 at 11:34 AMJOS, 2, “drug free water to drink or a four hour erection”
Boy, I can’t get either one ! Activity in america makes a shark feeding frenzy look civilized and polite.
I was talking to a rare man today about the social problems of local area, why don’t people speak and when they do, it’s bullshit. How do americans enable the authorities, even unintentionally and personally worsen their own pathetic lives.
Everyone is like a pinball bouncing off the bumpers that are the authorities. No one seems to want to think independently and assess matters by their own determination.
How can a group, a family, a village, accomplish anything for the common good, if they don’t speak?
Posted by joe of maine from on 06/18 at 12:55 PMPlastic fish singing Al Green songs to you or Real fish in the rivers and Al Green singing?
Posted by michael from not scotland on 06/18 at 01:11 PMif you do get one of the latter Joe be sure to see a doctor. there is nothing weirder than those singing plastic fish.
too bad people don’t understand aquanomics richie...instead of a recession we’re looking at extinction.
Posted by JOS from Chicago on 06/18 at 01:31 PMI thought that everyone should watch this, about five minutes long. Maybe send it to Jensen, too. Great direct action at work:

Posted by James from Hell's Kitchen on 06/18 at 04:05 PMJOS, 6, If I have a 4 hour erection, I should see a doctor?
Since my doctor’s husband is very domineering, and I don’t have health insurance, it would be much safer and less expensive to simply go to a brothel.
Posted by joe of maine from on 06/18 at 04:41 PMFrom elections to erections.
Gee...I don’t know......lowland gorillas, cellphones, gorillas, cellphones… That’s a tough call, can I think on it for a decade?
I really like that essay Mickey. I had some of my students read it and they liked it too. A good discussion starter for another endangered species: thoughtful North Americans.
Finally some rain in the Cariboo.
Posted by Mike from Cariboo, BC on 06/19 at 01:29 AMI just got a glimpse of a psychotic patient on a psychiatric ward who is acting out and endangering others with violence.
The patient is physically restrained, usually sedated with injections and then the staff makes a note in the patients medical records. This whole process is bullshit but the confrontation of someone who is violent is necessary in the heat of the moment.
Why aren’t we doing this so Gorilla’s can have some peace, so the planet can have some peace? I think we might examine anything that starts with, ‘why don’t we’ and ask why this doesn’t come about. It appears the acting out patient is devastating everything it their path.
Posted by joe of maine from on 06/19 at 05:27 AMHello Expendables. The rain has stopped in NYC but I’m rather hectic. My Dad is having some health issues so I’ll be heading to Texas relatively soon. Details to follow.
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 06/19 at 11:50 AMMickey...sorry about Dad, but it is good that you will be with him on Fathers Day. Have a safe trip.
joe...seems like the US is just like “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”.
Mike...That’s a good one “from elections to erections”.
JOS...water quality is a big issue - I have bought and carried in all drinking water for over 25 years. Wish some of that stimulus money would get up here to extend the municipal water line - which is only about 200 feet from my house - right at the end of my street.
richie… Hang in there. Things are bound to get better sooner or later - they can’t get much worse.
James #7...wish I could see it. How is the workplace these days?
Posted by RMJ from Ward Churchill 4 Prez Hdqts on 06/19 at 02:05 PMbest wishes for your dad mickey.
hello everyone.
Posted by michael from not scotland on 06/19 at 04:08 PMThanks, RMJ and Michael.
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 06/19 at 04:53 PMI just had something happen to me today to let me get that anger back instead of that resigned sardonic acceptance that we all think counts for resistance from time to time.
It feels good.
here’s the first instalment.
Posted by michael from not scotland on 06/19 at 05:22 PMActually, its not particularly angry
give me a couple of days. i’ve been down a hole.
Posted by michael from not scotland on 06/19 at 05:24 PMAs the authorities forced the dissidents onto the truck at gun point, the frightened townspeople stood by, many in tears, trying to distance themselves from their comrades and friends who were captured. The people didn’t want to hint to the authorities they sympathized with the judged dissidents. This was in a movie titled ‘Butterfly’
People, out of fear will watch their neighbors, alone deal with abusive authorities. They do not step forward and offer help. Many of these meek citizens call themselves activists. I know first hand as did the people on the truck. My experience was NOT a movie.
Conforming to the authorities, voting, etc., is a wonderful diversion from what is. It doesn’t work and strengthens divisions between people resulting in a lack of compassion and real action.

Posted by richie from st james city, fl on 06/19 at 09:47 PMMZ, best wishes for recovery - your dad and you (and others nearby).
Happy Father’s Day to those worthy of the title.
I started into pattrice jones’ Aftershock and am impressed - she rapidly demonstrates knowledge of the subject. More later.
And hello to all the Expendables, from the ZenProle Magic Mirror: I see JOS and RMJ initialing their dissent, joe and richie lancing the nonsense, and michael (not scot!) measuring The Man’s casket, Helga up over, keir here and there, Mike to the north of insanity, and MZ and Michele at the helm in stormy seas.
Posted by Zen Prole from Pac NW on 06/20 at 03:38 PMNice comment, Zen.
I just put up a new post. Not sure when I’ll get another one up. stay tuned.
