Weather forecast
Don’t forget about the US military’s weather machine HAARP, the most powerful ionspheric heater, located in Alaska, based on Tesla’s Death Ray design. Who knows what this thing is doing?
It’s possible we may be manipulating the weather in more profound ways than anyone can imagine.Posted by Evan from new paltz on 11/27 at 01:39 PMThanks, Evan. If you click the words “weather modification” in the weather post, it’ll bring to another post of mine that mentions the military.
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 11/27 at 05:50 PMWeather or Not Dept: It’s always time for a Mark Twain quote.
MZ, I just saw your poem on CP. What happened?
Alex’s take on The Obama Straddle is worth reading.
The Other Thanksgiving Dept: Am observing Buy Nothing Day, but ventured out to meet someone...in surprisingly light traffic. Amen to that, and watch for business media contortion (redundancy trifecta!) about sales figures.
Posted by Zen Prole from Pac NW on 11/27 at 07:05 PMHey Zen: Turns out CP has a separate poetry editor now and he likes me. We’ll see if that lasts.
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 11/27 at 07:44 PMI’ve been busy with Thanksgiving activities and off the computer, but thanks a lot Mick for plugging my friend’s program. His name is Adam Green and though we don’t get to see each other much I have been amazed by what he and the kids have accomplished. I’ll pass on the link to him. I know he will appreciate it.

Posted by JOS from Oak Park on 11/28 at 01:02 AMThanks, JOS.
Btw, I just added two new links to the main post. Hope you’ll all vote for them, too.
Posted by Mickey Z. from Astoria on 11/28 at 07:48 AMAnother beautiful thing ‘bout bird watching is that you have to be quiet, still and Zen like to enjoy them… Not a bad state to find oneself in for a while every day…
Posted by Bob T. from Archer, FL on 11/28 at 08:08 AMGreat point, bob T. Thanks. I wish I would’ve included it in my post.

Yes, what an excellent point, thinking on that just made my day.
Posted by Andy from shanghai on 11/28 at 08:46 AMHi Mickey, JOS, Evan, Zen, Andy, and all…
Evan’s comment reminded me of the Hadron Collider experiment. What effect will it have on the environment and how much better it would have been to use the money for humanitarian causes.
About the weather...just had 6 inches of snow on the mountain.
About bird watching...one of my favorite things to do and it is so easy where I live. There are always birds - lots of them - all over the place. One day when I came home, I put some groceries on the porch for a minute waiting to get them inside. They were well wrapped. In less than a minute the crows knew what I had done and came and broke through the wrappings and ate some of the bread. They are very intelligent and can see into my house. They keep a close watch because they know that I am a source of food for them. Any time I am inside but approach my door, they start crowing and calling all of their friends. Amazing. My favorite bird is the gull. I am always impressed when I see so many far away from the ocean. They like it inland too.Mickey, I voted.
On Tuesday the Prez will again use the troops as props as he announces his latest plan to escalate the war. No one seems to be noticing that the number of troops is becoming irrelvant. The drones and also the Contractors have rendered troops obsolete. Did I mention that the military base near Syracuse will be a drone base? A few friends have been on a hunger strike protesting there.
Off topic...Yesterday I was in the check-out line of the local grocery store. I was buying some asparagus and a bottle of wine. The cashier CARDED ME. I smiled for the rest of the day.
