I just called the ICU to check on her and the nurse stunned me by handing my Mom the phone. Hearing her voice gave me renewed confidence.

Like Braddock in “Cinderella Man,” my Mom has that hardcore Irish stubbornness. As Harry says, let’s hope that’s what counts.
