Freedom of the Press
Good morning all.
Barnett Rubin says:
‘ The Bush-Cheney administration has surrendered much of Afghanistan to the Taliban and much of Pakistan to al-Qaida. They have turned most of Iraq over to Iran, creating the very danger over which they now threaten another disastrous war; they have strained the U.S. Armed Forces to the point of exhaustion, turned the Defense Department over to private contractors, the Justice Department over to the Republican National Committee, and the national debt over to foreign creditors, while leading a party whose single most basic belief is supposed to be that individuals must take personal responsibility for their actions. What will you do about it MZ once you have been electged President of teh USA?
Posted by frances on from bc 09/24 at 08:50 AMHi frances...I do not speak for Mickey, but support the Blum statement about what a president should do on his first 3 days in office.

I am warming up to your campaign!
That is a brilliant.
Posted by Robert B. Livingston on from San Francisco, California 09/24 at 01:31 PMPresident Ahmadinejad just finished his speech. For those who missed it, here is what you probably won’t hear in the media.
1. The Colombia official who spoke before Ahmadinejad did, was extremely nasty - he seemed to be on a propaganda trip of his own. I found it depressing to see a “scholar” from Columbia say the things that he did.
2. This might be the most important thing Ahmadinejad said - Once again he said that the Holocaust happened but it did NOT happen in Palestine. The Press and government in the usa has been misrepresenting his position on the issue for years.Posted by RMJ on from Mickey Z 4 Prez Hdqts 09/24 at 02:14 PMMY LIVING WILL
Last night, my friend and I were sitting in the living room and I said to
her,“I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some
machine and fluids from a bottle. If that ever happens, just pull the
plug.”She got up, unplugged the TV, and threw out my wine.
She’s such a bitch....Posted by RMJ on from Mickey Z 4 Prez Hdqts 09/24 at 02:15 PMRMJ...7...you said, “She got up, unplugged the TV, and threw out my wine.
She’s such a bitch....”Perhaps she was getting an early start on your request?

RMJ - your friend has a point!
as for mickeys post, i just want to remind you all that the writer dennis potter referred to his ‘cancer’ as ‘rupert’ because he said that it was doing to him what rupert is doing to the world
Posted by michael on from scotland 09/25 at 06:54 AMGood morning and apologies...I assumed that all would know that my #7 comment was a spoof. It was an e-mail that I received from a friend yesterday. I don’t like wine and I don’t use the “bitch” word because it is so gender specific.
It is another beautiful day up here. The tour buses have started to arrive with loads of “leaf-peepers”. I am still mowing and happy to do it. It sure beats snow-shoveling.
Posted by RMJ on from Mickey Z 4 Prez Hdqts 09/25 at 08:14 AMHello again, all...and good to see you, Michael. I just made a new post. Couldn’t resist the new poem from my friend, Sparrow.
