Have no fear, Israel is here

Posted by Mickey Z on 07/23 at 05:50 AM
  1. Thank you Mickey for the link to the photos. They are overwhelming. There is not much that can be said after looking at them except that it is usa weapons and money that brought this holocaust to the world. If anyone ever again wonders why they hate us there are plenty of photos to show them.  A few years ago I wrote an article saying that this kind of perversion of usa military/industrial power was painting a target on the back of every usa citizen. It is treason against the usa people. There will be Blowback.
I had already signed the petition a few days ago.

  2. I keep saying...JUST FOLLOW THE MONEY. The usa is making a bundle on this slaughter. Condoleeeeeza Not-so-nice will be sure to keep the killing going on and on and on.

  3. Hi RMJ and thanks Mickey for those photos balanced with the de Mello quote. I know who the war criminal pictured is, but only because I cheated by right-clicking. You need to name the image file something less conspicuous to prevent that next time. Or maybe you trust us all too much.

Anyway, as my own life’s been falling apart inreasingly so lately, I have trouble following the carnage overseas. But I try anyway. Most of the main coverage of it makes me sick as well, like this that I saw on the main google news page:

With the relevant line-- We should not lose sight of the effort of Israel to spare non-combatants--

Yeah, okay. What a crappy article that is.

  4. Oh yeah, and I saw the new Superman movie the other nigth. It was okay, not as mediocre as many people have said. At the moment what stands out is all the Jesus themes and images he was putting into it, especially toward the end. I won’t describe it in case any of you are about to go see it, but it’s all really obvious, probably too much so.

As for IMAX, I’m not sure if it’s worth spending the extra five bucks on, it’s gets kinda annoying.

  7. Hello RMJ and CatLady. Thanks for the links.

  8. For crying out loud, it’s goddamn Tony Blair already. There, I couldn’t help it.

  9. From Israel to Lebanon is a sight with photos a la Fisk gallery which spares the viewer nothing of the horror, short of it being a photo.

Israel is really just so shameless in recent years and esp. days that I find it abhorrent beyond words.
Shovel out all the spin and perhaps they would have no need to “defend” themselves if their soldiers didn’t encroach onto foreign, sovereign lands and suddenly find themselves to be “hostages”.  The language and rhetoric is above and beyond the best efforts of any yarn spinner and it sickens me.
Where the Israelis concerned that their soldiers were being threatened by the existance of bridges and communications towers?!
This is a carefully planned military excercise, but it is NOT a reaction to anything.

BTW - hope all Expendables are well, it’s an absolutely beautiful summer day here...almost perfect.

  10. How odd… a former W. Bush speechwriter turned animal rights author:

Found by flipping through the Choose Veg link on the left here. I think I’ll go take a meditative sort of walk by the Hudson River now, as the weather’s become a lot more manageable now.

  11. Interesting link, CatLady. Enjoy your walk. It is indeed a decent weather day for NYC.

Empress: I just put on CNN and heard your words as I watched: The language and rhetoric is above and beyond the best efforts of any yarn spinner and it sickens me.

  12. Okay Mickey, I’m asking all my married friends-- is this article for real or not?

  13. I have very very little respect left for the cbc, but I suspect this story might be delayed reaching CNN

Did any of you know (or care) that JD Roberts used to be the host of “The Power Hour” and he and his long mullet interviewed many a metal band back in the 80’s?
Now as John Roberts he’s spinning you the greatest hits on the highway to Haifa and beyond and bringing them to along with the small sensitive man via cnn. Ha! He must’ve been in cahoots with Stephen Harper all along!

  14. I did not know that, Empress...but then again, perhaps my mental powers are diminished from so many years of sleeping with a partner (see CatLady’s link).

    But seriously:

  15. That’s disgusting. And we wonder why I’m more of a Cat, um, Lady, even if I did grow up with dogs. Man, I’ll tell you though… I’ve been thinking way too clearly lately. This must change. Stay tuned, or whatever.

  16. Excellent post, Mickey!  And the photos speak for themselves.  Personally I have been appalled by those ‘liberal’ or supposedly left-leaning blogs who have not seen fit to even mention the current Israel-Palestine ‘crisis’ (what a choice of words btw).

‘Hi’ to Rosemarie,Ruben, James and Amelopsis - we might have quite a beautiful winter day today - cold but sunny.

Captcha ‘tax’:  the Australian financial year starts on 1 July and tax can be paid in quarterly instalments if one is self-employed ..

  17. Helga, that’s insane-- what else IS there for them to mention lately but the Isreali-Palestine-Lebanon… I think the word might be ‘catastrophe’?

  18. Re Ruben:  I don’t really know what to think of him, Mickey.  Troll maybe??
