Helping Orphans in East Timor

  1. Many questions are raised about how these children came to be at the East Timor Action Network link, specifically, for example, at this one:

    “Another matter that requires attention is that of the children of Indonesian soldiers in the military zones of Aceh, Irian Jaya and East Timor… The women are having a very difficult time, not only because of poverty, but also because the sight of the children often reminds them of the rape. As a result, the children are often either abandoned or treated badly...”

  2. Let me clairfy: The ETAN link has nothing to do with the orphanage that needs help. I merely posted it as a way to provide more info about the area.
