Jesus Rides the #7 Train

  1. And we can thank the good lord for having computers to read this article, and we can thank the good lord for giving us eyes and keyboards, we can thank the good lord for enabling Mickey to write this article, and thank the lord for inventing email, we can thank the good lord for giving us capitalism, the church/state/military as our trinity…

Some people thank the good lord and they don’t have to, because they are innately good people, but have not discovered that part of themself and taken credit for their evolvment and humane sense of responsibility, and transcended their fear of questioning, a supreme being, NOT existing…

Yet some people thank the lord after they stick someone in the ass and start wars...repeating this cycle of barbarism…

  2. Your article brings to mind something Michael Parenti said, “It’s quite intresting that most of God’s will involves mass murder and real estate acquisition.” Keep in mind he was refering to the numerous leaders who use religion to obtain their goals.

  3. Hello Joe.

Richard: Good quote. I think Chomsky said: “The Bible is the most genocidal book in our canon.”

    Amazingly, captcha sez: faith

  4. i like to ask the one about “if god made you then he gave you powers of logic, reasoning and weighing evidence. are you therefore not in dereliction of duty by refusing to use them?”

  5. Off topic: Why are the South Carolina Democrats afraid of Stephen Colbert? He was the ONLY announced candidate, besides Mickey of course, who impressed me.  Maybe we should have a “rate the candidates day” here.

  6. Good morning everyone...as the numerous american hostilities continue...america falls deeper in to the pits of eternal choas, incompetent, apathetic, afraid to say hello fore what might follow the greeting, can’t deal with anything except the autopilot behavior they have been conditioned to accept without question. Silent obedience...let us prey.

  7. Good morning joe and all...There is some good news. Bush says that if Mukasey is not confirmed, he(Bush)will not appoint anyone. We will have no Attorney General! Now if we could only get rid of the 50 State AGs.

  8. “From the point of view of the tapeworm, man was created by god to serve the appetite of the tapeworm.” - Edward Abbey

That tears it. I’m voting anti-parasite in the next election.

  9. Hey Mickey,
Great article! I roared with laughter when I read it. As always, you are a very witty and sharp voice of reason in an all too often irrational world.
    Thank you for this.

  12. Hello Expendables. It’s a bright but slightly chilly day here in NYC.

I heard from Expendable JOS. For some odd reason, he cannot access this blog from home or work so he sends his regards. He has a poetry chapbook coming out so I’ll post info on that soon.

  13. I want to share this comment.

“He believed that Gnosis enables the self-repair of “memory retrieval” circuits that exist uniquely in the human species, but have been damaged. This accords with my view that humanity provides a memory-circuit for Gaia.”

  14. very very off topic but i had an argumentative evening.

i support scottish independence very strongly but no political party.

it is so hard for people to understand if you are not from here but there is a line that is now famous around the world even tho it has been adapted and altered so many times.

basically the scottish parliament was told if you all dont sign up to the ‘glorious union’ with england your country will be robbed raped and pillaged to death.

for a long time (70 years or so) wearing a kilt or playing traditional scottish music was punished by death

we have always been vastly outnumbered by our ‘neighbours’ to the south. it makes for a difficult fight. the ratio has fluctauted between 6 english for one scot to 10 english for one scot. either way, that is a difficult fight.

but the best and real reason for scottish independence - and this is the line that was a real scottish thing that has been adapted and emphasised all round the world.... someone stood up and said that we should not join with england because it is better to have our politicians in edinburgh where we can throw stones at them because not even the strongest arm can throw as far as london

    #### london

you can quote me on that.
