Read my Apocalypse
hi Mickey, congratulations on the new book. One of the guys at Raw Dog Screaming, John Edward Lawson, anthologised one of my stories a couple years ago. never met the guy, only talked by mail, but he’s a good egg and a good writer too.
Posted by owen on from barcelona 12/03 at 02:50 PMThansk, Owen. Great to see you here.
John Edward Lawson is exactly the person I’ve been dealing with and he’s been great.
Posted by Mickey Z. on from Astoria 12/03 at 02:55 PMHi Owen
Mickey, have a safe journey. Hugs to your Mom and Dad.
I am not feeling enlightened or liberated today. Maybe it is not possible to be completely liberated. By the time we get smart enough to recognize the negative impact of the culture, it’s too late and we’re too old to do anything about it.
Had our first shovel-able snow today.
Is the usa backing down on Iran? Maybe they realize that the whole rest of the world is against us.
In the news today...it is reported that there is DU in the urine and homes of the people living near an old abandoned industrial site near Albany in the town of Colonie. The factory here has been closed for a very long time. The “experts” will study the problem so they will know what to expect when the troops come home. How many Iraqi children have been exposed to DU? Nobody cares!
Posted by RMJ on from Mickey Z 4 Prez Hdqts 12/03 at 06:42 PMRMJ...good evening...yeah, I’m feeling pretty grim today...the dysfunctional WARkplace on my mind, with little optimism of finding a job that’s any better or different, perhaps worst. I do know I should not be there for my mental and physical health. Authorities don’t care about people’s well being, occasionally they make lip service to helping others...their help usually being an oppressive imposition and not aid.
America is normalizing worst levels of hypocrisy, individuals finding comfort with criminals instead of objecting to such heinous behavior...behavior...that sounds like a textbook term, to much for me...it’s easier to hate than to think about human behavior and how to transcend this barbarism we call the american way.
Posted by joe of maine on from 12/03 at 07:05 PMHello all..
Hey Mick...that is great news about the book!
Can’t wait to read it.
Looks like I am back on MickeyZ.net with my connection at my new apartment and a some browser adjustments.
Look forward to getting back in the groove here.
Posted by JOS on from Oak Park 12/03 at 09:55 PMHello Expendables...and a big welcome back to JOS. I’ll be headed to the airport a little later this morning but will do my best to keep an eye on the comments here.
Hey Owen, if you can, give us a link to some of your fiction, okay?
Posted by Mickey Z. on from Astoria 12/04 at 05:22 AMSafe travels MZ.
Stop and give thanks if you happen to pass through Houston. As for W, his words are too contradictory to have any validity.
My main objection in these proclamations by so called leaders is the continued use of the words we and our.
Many out here have been long practicing what he is proposing with little regard for precious economic development or prosperity.

it is never too late, nor is one ever too old.Posted by Tommy on from I live by the RIver 12/04 at 01:35 PMTommy...that’s the nicest thing anybody has said to me in a long time.
JOS...It is great that you are back. You have been missed a lot.
joe...I was thinking about you yesterday and wondering if you were able to make it in to work. How much snow did you get? I did not get much. The problem was that the power went out and that means that I did not have C-span to entertain and lull me to sleep last night. Instead I had to count sheep. That was easy. I just thought about most of the voters I know.
I wonder how Joe from Oregon is. They are having some bad weather out there.
Hi, Owen. Mickey, have a good flight.
Posted by RMJ on from Mickey Z 4 Prez Hdqts 12/04 at 01:47 PMI just checked the Drudge Report. The big headline is: WORLD WAR 3 is on hold (for now).
Just thought that you all should know that in case you want to make other plans.Posted by RMJ on from Mickey Z 4 Prez Hdqts 12/04 at 01:54 PMGreat photos of some good kids…
Posted by RMJ on from Mickey Z 4 Prez Hdqts 12/04 at 02:30 PMRMJ...8...You’re getting witty my dear...I like it!
“Instead I had to count sheep. That was easy. I just thought about most of the voters I know.”
Sheep are real..not voters…
Posted by joe of maine on from 12/04 at 04:16 PMAnd Thomas Naylor sez, with no optimism for our political system:
“Anyone who agrees to serve in the U.S. Congress, legitimizes a government which condones preparations for war against Iran, the annihilation of Afghanistan and Iraq, a convoluted war on terrorism, the illegal rendition of terrorist suspects, prisoner abuse and torture, citizen surveillance, the suspension of habeas corpus, corporate greed, a culture of deceit, and a foreign policy based on full spectrum dominance and unconditional support for the apartheid government of Israel.”
Posted by joe of maine on from 12/04 at 04:31 PMjoe...I think I like Thomas Naylor.
Posted by RMJ on from Mickey Z 4 Prez Hdqts 12/04 at 04:41 PMSorry about #9...Daily Mail now reports: “...World War III still on the cards as Bush insists Iran IS a threat. President George W. Bush said today that Iran remains a danger and ‘all options’ remain on the table despite a U.S. intelligence report that Tehran halted its atomic weapons programme four years ago . . .”
Soooo, if you have plans for the week-end you might have to cancel them. In the meantime eat dessert first, call in sick, don’t buy green bananas, run up your credit cards, and don’t buy any lifetime subscriptions to any magazines.
Posted by RMJ on from Mickey Z 4 Prez Hdqts 12/04 at 04:56 PMRMJ...war for profits is perpetual, since that’s the case, I estimate this is world war 182,500
Posted by joe of maine on from 12/04 at 08:02 PM...14..
The spin cycle regarding Iran is now on at full power.
One of the positive legacies of 9/11 for Bush is that he can use the incompetence of the intelligence comunity as an excuse for his actions.
Thus, now the news doesn’t fit the agenda, therefore the intelligence must be bogus.
Also, Israel is now saying the US report is unreliable.
Too many sides to the story to keep count.
Confusion reigns.
I’d be more surprised now, if Iran was not attacked.Posted by Tommy on from I live by the River 12/05 at 08:43 AMI was just thinking the same thing, Tommy. What better time to bomb than when those who are soft on terror are making excuses for the evil empire in Iran?
P.S. New post is up.
