My kind of shopping spree
The Reverend John Papworth aka the shoplifting vicar has stated, “Supermarkets are soulless, and their advertising is propaganda. Shoplifting is a badly needed reallocation of resources.” I’m sure he would have blessed the shopping carts.
You mentioned laughter as direct action the other day. It took me until today to remember that bullies who get laughed at lose their mojo. The top down speeches at massive protests are boring, they’re not interactive enough to build lasting solidarity (in my opinion) and they’re very rarely funny. This shopping spree was not stoppable and it was funny. It got the right people fed and it got the right people huffing and puffing with pompous indignation.
