No-brainer: Hillary loves Dick (Cheney, that is)

Posted by Mickey Z on 10/30 at 05:31 AM
  1. Thanks for this article, Mickey. “...with co-host Steve Doocy adding: “You don’t dunk them in the water. You just kind of splash some water on them.” That is like saying, we don’t hurt them with the bullets. We just add a little lead and DU to their bodies.  There is no way to be in denial about torture. We do it. That is who we are. That is why they hate us. And that is why some of us hates us.
About HRC...Yes, she has morphed into Dick,(Cheney that is).

  2. That video is abyssmal. For those who can’t watch it, a guy pays some military types to “waterboard” him. Puts on an orange jumpsuit for the camera too. It’s all in good fun and afterwards he says, laughing, inane shit like “wow, dude, I like totally thought I was gonna die.” Meanwhile he interviews that paragon of morality Alan Dershowitz, who tells him that torture is absolutely fine and necessary and should be officially authorized so that no one gets into any legal trouble. Rosemarie, not only do they do it, but they’re proud of it.

    Crazy.

  3. Keir...That might be the greatest part of this tragedy, We/they are proud of it. There have been a lot of comments that have been documented. The one that always comes to my mind is, “The chick was in the way”. Can you imagine the mentality that it takes to have that attitude after murdering a woman in front of her children. The purpose of military type training is to remove all empathy and humanity out of the trainee but I think that many who enlist have already had that happen because of our culture. We have become a compassion-less society. Every time I see a homeless person, I think about that. The culture, the media, and the school system all contribute to this mass dehumanization. Every classroom should have the Fisk photos on display.

  4. Agreed about the lack of compassion

Regarding the “Fisk“ photos, I think adults have more than ample access to these horrific images, and they themselves choose to avoid them (Yahoo prefers to link to celebrity news, remember) and imbue their children with questionable values (click here for my latest on that subject).

On we/they . . . whenever I slip up in conversation in Yurp and say “we’re at war” in Iraq or Afghanistan I am immediately asked if I feel myself to be at war there. I don’t. And no, my enemy’s enemy is not my friend. The bloodbath conducted by the US government and its willing participants (from regular soldiers to CEO’s) is not our bloodbath, Rosemarie.

Where are the rest of the Expendables today? Doubtless gearing up for nanwrimo. . .

  5. Hello Expendables. We’re experiencing a last hurrah of sorts here, re: nice weather.

Thanks for the comments, Keir and RMJ. It has been a little slow on the comments board...despite increased overall traffic. I doubt it’s the novel writing thing but I would be curious to know who is going to give that a whirl.

I’m off to the city for a kickboxing client soon. See you later…

  8. Thanks, RMJ. I’ve always been an admirer of Peter Montague. Between GMOs and HMOs, we’re doomed.

    Where’s Mudge?

  9. and all of this time I thought she hated dick.

    re: Robert Fisk

I have some friends who are not from the U.S. of A. and after 9/11 they were constantly quoting the work of Robert Fisk. He is really the first one who opened my eyes to all of the bullshit.

  11. Just back from a ‘flying visit’ to Melbourne where I acquired the latest opus by Richard Ford, ‘The Lay of the Land’ - did not want to go offline before calling in at the ‘Cool Observer’.  You really have the best graphics/photos and the best text to boot, Mickey.  It is always a pleasure to visit - hope we can meet one day.

‘Hello’ to all my fellow expendables from a sunny but not too warm (70F) Daylesford.

    Ciao amici ..

  13. On the food front. It may help the cause if the manufacturers of soy and tofu based products would lower their prices a bit. If a low income single mother has only so much money to feed her kids with I think she’ll go for hotdogs & Ramen noodles before she buys Soy milk for $5.00 a 1/2 gallon or soy dogs for $4.00 a pack.

  14. “Water Boarding? Dude, I so thought they meant Wake Boarding. Whoa, that shits extreme!” (This inept attempt at a message brought to you by a generation pacified by so-called reality TV and reruns of Jackass)
