Nothing but the truth?

Posted by Mickey Z on 11/29 at 03:18 PM
  1. I agree with Galileo...and Kenneth Walker said, our only responsibility is to become fully conscious...Galileo said discover truth...so...where do we go to gain insight into how to know, to find...how do we gain the realization of any truth that is beyond the ordinary world of our ordinary activity? The innate tendency to continue into infinite knowing???

  2. Yes, that is one of my favorite movie scenes - “The truth, you can’t handle the truth...”

It seems to me, the truth is surrounding all of us. Part of it is on the Fisk War Photos site. We don’t lack for truth. We lack for the ability to act upon it.

On the other hand, there are those who have chosen to be kept misinformed - those who choose predatory ignorance ...like the woman who called into C-span this morning and said that we are all suffering economically because when Mexicans cross the border and come here, our government gives them $2000 per month to pay their rent.

  3. Hello Joe and RMJ. Although I’m pretty sure neither of you can view it, I’ve added a video of the quote RMJ mentions above.

    Captcha sez: strength

  4. Good Morning...Joe Sez...’The lies of the emperor is always believed before the truth’ The lies approaching the lies seeking something rational. The warkplace representing the global war. The cancer we live within spreading elsewhere. The lies defended fore they repel the truth and anyone having to deal with their ‘personal’ truth.

  7. Well....Truth is an interesting topic...but, what the hell do I know about the truth...does anyone know anything about the truth? Who’s truth, our truth, their truth, my truth, yours?

Someone told me the last remaining supplies of Agent orange were dumped into the Delaware River by the BWI disposal company. Said they charged 1 million bucks for this service???? How honorable a deed....

  8. Hello all.

Mickey, after rereading the post, I ‘m reminded of the quiz question; which of these does not belong?

The Nicholson reference seems out of place.
Undoubtedly, Sorkin was successful in showing the hypocrisies inherent in the military situation described.
Yes, the truth is out there, barely disguised. to be accepted or challenged.
Ironically, due in large part to Nicholson’s immense ability, the scene achieved a different result.
“You can’t handle the truth” has entered the American lexicon. For many, the phrase is a touchstone for the unapologetic approval of US force and the instrument of it that Jessup represents.

  9. Speaking of truths and Jack N....is it true he has a number of children with a number of his female servants? This is a vitally important question...and I can handle the truth about this question…

  10. Here’s an award winning headline…

Biden: Impeachment if Bush Bombs Iran

Why don’t we just ‘wait’ to have the entire planet in flames? Why don’t they just issue a 5 dollar fine for inappropriate behavior...Prosecute Biden also

  11. joe...thanks for joining the navy with me. Maybe we can ship out together.  Interesting goings-on across the Maine border in NH. Hostages - hummmm, makes me think of all of the hostages the usa has in secret prisons all around the globe.
About Jack N...for a while, I lived in his home town on the Jersey shore. The culture of the 60s there explains a lot about how easy and authentic his performance was in “Cuckoo’s Nest”. I remember it well.

Tommy...about the movie scene. You are right. I watch that scene every time it is on TV - probably have seen it more than 20 times. Yes, in the movie, it was used as a justification for keeping the facts hidden.

  12. Joe...9....
I did, after all, say that Jack had immense ability.

    RMJ..11…
You mentioned Cuckoo’s Nest and the Jersey Shore in the same paragraph.
    You’re all right darlin.

  13. Tommy...can you imagine what the Jersey Shore was like in the 60’s?  Anything you ever heard about it, was in reality a thousand times better - and sometimes a thousand times worse.
Tomorrow I might be on - show time is 3 Eastern Standard. Here’s a link to hear it on-line.

  15. Mike Tyson vs. “The Truth"

Posted by Mickey Z.  on  from Astoria 12/01  at  07:02 AM
  16. Knowing about Tyson, only thru the medias...I must say I feel sorry for him. Is he the grand example of dehumanization, the pawn for riches, the individual who never resolves his accumulation of dysfunctional experiences???

  19. Where is everyone today, people of the planet...perhaps everyone is buying heart-felt gifts for their loved ones, for example, a new tube of chain saw lubricant. This is something that has always made me teary eyed. Or possibly a new ventilation cap for the cesspool air line...or new socks for your pet anaconda...whatever, I hope you return soon.
