Pity the Irish and Irish catholics of today have sold out to false gods and burning bushes!
JimCPosted by JimC on from Japan via Cork 03/19 at 02:22 AMMuy bien! Exellent documentation. It is a shame tahtn the public nor the American-Irish know about this and few proud mexicans know this. I am Mexican and Catholic and I also bealive in freedom of speach and religion. Have you seen the independent movie “One men’s hearo is another detertor” That’s how I found about this dark side or American History menwhile I was taking my A.H. Class back in 1999 in College. I always quetion everything even Mexican official history, where they don talk much about the anti-catholic movement of the 20’s and 30’s (even today). I just want to thank you for your contribution to spread this this history in the web.

Hope to see you at the site again soon.
Posted by Mickey Z. on from Astoria 07/22 at 05:01 PMIm neither Irish or Catholic but as a citizen of this world, being born and residing in the U.S., and usually labeled “mexican-american”, I find history and cultures very interesting. I was married to an Irish lady and I came to realize that there really isn’t that many differences in culture. Religion was defietelly what drove the Irish immigrants to desert from the U.S. military and join the Mexican military, but after interacting with many different Native-Irish and American-Irish, I can almost assume that their ways of thinking as well as ideals contribuited to their desire to abandon their position and not just leave the U.S. armed forces but join the opposing party and fight for what they believed was the right cause.
