Stormin' Norman thinks he's me...and W.C. Fields goes Marxist
The Internet Archive has a whole bunch of feature films. Some of them are quite good. I found a short WC Fields film called the “Fatal Glass Of Beer”. Donwload speed is a little slow—their servers are overwhelmed—but you can queue them for overnight download if you find anything good. It’s not a theatre experience, but it’s free of hassles.
Posted by Harry on from 07/17 at 11:20 AMMickey, Have you had a look at Norman Solomon’s book and found any similaraties with Seven Deadly Spins? Norman Finkelstein is going after Alan Dershowitz for plagiarazing a rank fabrication no less (’From Time Immemorial’ which is a farrago of demographic delusions)--including the exact placement of ellipses in quotations from obscure 150 year old sources--but Intellectual Property lawyers are advising him to make minor wording changes “to head off costly litigation”:

Solomon certainly doesn’t need to plagiarize me and I surely can’t claim to be the only one to write on such a topic. However, the format and the timing of his book make it noteworthy that he doesn’t reference “Seven Deadly Spins” at all.
I was pretty harsh on Solomon last year for his support of Kerry. Maybe he just doesn’t like me. Or maybe he just didn’t read my book. I haven’t read any of his...so it’s possible.
As for the Finkelstein/Dershowitz situation, yeah, I read the transcript of their debate on Democracy Now.
Thanks, SK.
