TGIF Web Surfing
I have a problem with so called icons. Bono got a call from my prime minister about having a concert in Ottawa and he got it. I distrust this, as a matter of principle. What does a rock star have to do with this issue? While it is nice to see “stars” support progressive ideas, it also sets them up as some sort of authority which for me also sets up the idea that they have been co-opted. Whose agenda is this? While it looks like a progressive idea, is it really? Does Bono really know all the convoluted issues? I really like his songs, but ...
