The life of a muscular militant

  1. Hello Expendables...from a slightly warmer NYC. Where is everyone today?

Maybe this will get things going:

  3. Read your piece over at the DailyKos, on Hating America.  Hey, on behalf of all of America’s citizens, black, white, asian, hispanic, and Pelosian, we’re really glad you’re here.

    No, really.

And, being so towel-snappingly big and muscular, you will certainly continue to be an excellent source of nitrogen and fertilizer, if you keep eating large quantities of foodstuffs, and crap at least once or twice daily.

That is your true use and value to our country! (or any other you care to go to, for that matter...)

Remember, lots and lots of foodstuffs shoved in your porker! We need to keep the waving amber grain fields going!

  4. Let me guess, Bush isn’t in the line up because he’s the “best” Dictator out there! Ha Ha!!

Started reading Endgame Vol1 today For all of the first 27 pages it’s awesome. It’s surprisingly dense in information, I’m finding my self having to reread paragraphs because I’m not paying close enough attention to what I’m reading because I’m still thinking of what I had just read.

Wife is now term and due on the 28th. Pretty much expecting baby kablam any time now. All systems are go, initiating countdown sequence.

Interesting story Mickey. What kind of questions did the Doorman have for you?

    Peace and Love,
    Luna

  5. Hey Luna...good luck to you and Mrs. Luna. Keep us posted. As for the doorman, his questions were mostly related to events specific to that time period. He and I continue to talk.

Young Buck: Like so many others, you seem to have missed the point of my “hate America” article. Oh well...thanks, anyway, for stopping by.

  6. Btw, Young Buck, how did you happen upon the article in the first place?

  7. Luna… Congratulations to the whole family!
Mickey...About the list of dictators, every time I see Qaddafi, I am reminded about how the usa bombed and killed his little girl. I wonder how many usa textbooks include that historical fact.

  8. Has anyone been following the Bill Arkin news. FOX has really been beating up on him. The silence of the “peace” people reminds me of the MLK quote that michael puts up here about the silence of your friends being worse than the words of your enemies. It seems that too often when someone speaks out, they are then left swinging in the wind all by themselves, Ward Churchill, Jay Benish, ....

  9. I wonder how many usa textbooks include that historical fact.

I’d be curious to know that, too. My guess is none...but you never know.

  10. Sorry, RMJ...simultyping. I’m not familiar with that story. Heading out now but will read up upon my return. Thanks.

  11. Textbooks are a major source of misinformation. I believe that most of them are published in Texas but that’s not the reason.
I forgot to say that I liked today’s story about the “enlightened doorman”. It is very interesting that sometimes the reactions to our political beliefs are received in a better way than we expect.

  12. Greetings, all.  Congratulations Luna.  I hope everything goes well Ma and Baby Luna.  It’s work, but it’s worth it.

What’s with the recent influx of posters?  Did they all just pass their Ad Hominem 101 online course?

You’ve scored a coveted link at LGF.

Last time it happened to me I was picking spambots out of my trackbacks for months.

  14. Skeptic,

God, the comments on that site make me ill. I think I need to go to sleep now.

Hope everyone is doing well. I don’t really have much else to say… I’m just glad that we live in a country full of geniuses who can easily decode any piece of information and quickly put it into a box and then never look at it again.

The problem is the boxes stack up and eventually you’re gonna run out of room.

The most disgusting part about all of it is that we all do it to some extent. Doesn’t give me a lot of hope for the future of humanity.

Yeah, I need to go to sleep.

  15. hello everybody

i am with luna here today. because i bought endgame just after getting back(it is a difficult thing to procure in korea) and have been stunned by it so far. i wouldnt say i was taking it to heart so much as he says lots of things i already believed.

    but for storytelling saturday…

since i got home after a year away i have just been meeting friends and family all the time. so lots of drunkeness has ensued in the course of doing this.

tonight i went to meet with some of the “anti-war” people that i havent seen in a while.

the people in question r not people that share beliefs with me. they are from the Socialist workers party ([SWP] otherwise known as the stalinist wankers party)but i know many of them socially from protests and the fact that i used to date a girl who is one of them (an anarchist and a marxist will never be a happy couple!).

but the SWP people… i dont knw the name of the american equivalent but i am sure there must be one.

what they do essentially is try to usurp every up and coming problem for their ends by starting what is supposed to be a broad church movement. that group then goes on to make a pretence of having some sort of collective decision making but really has nothing of the sort. then, after that, anything other people do that is not ratified and endorsed by the stalinist wankers party is, according to them, counter-productive because it isnt presenting a “united front”

i have had so many arguments with these people over the years.

tonight, after saying hello, the first thign one of them did was give me a flier for something that was apparently “perfect for me” which was a day of lectures and discussons about “trotsky for activists” sponsored and organised by,.... wait for it...the fucking SWP - STALINIST WANKERS PARTY

that was the FIRST thing he had to say to me

this irked me somewhat. they had all just come out another stop the war conference and were slapping themsleves on the backs for a well-attended and apparently successful meeting.

all i said was “very successful? so you stopped the war then??”

semi-facetious i know but i think derrick jensen would agree it is a fair question.

incidentally, the book that should go hand in hand with endgame is one i always recommend on here (and everyhwere else) is ‘Island’ by aldous huxley.

oh and on my stereo is “a certain romance” by the arctic monkeys

  16. Just got home but yeah, a post I made at Kos has caught the attention of a few folks on the “right.” Interestingly, the liberals at Kos hated my post with equal venom.

Hey, at least it increased traffic here.

    G’night, all…
