There is No Good War: The Myths of WWII

  1. Oh sure Mickey - rerelease this after I spent all of last Spring tracking down a copy when all the usual vendors told me it was out of print. Oh well, it’s a great one, and I do want to see the additions/revisions. I just wish my dad - a vet of the “Good War” (Navy-Pacific Theater-Photographer’s Mate) - was still alive, I would love to get a copy for him and hear his reaction. Have you had any letters from any vets since the book’s first publication? I wonder what sort of reactions you might have gotten.

  2. Great question. I’ve always found it interesting that the bulk of criticism for the book comes from those viewing WWII through a modern prism. Many vets (some of whom called in when I did radio shows) were sympathetic to the book’s take. It seems as the years passed and they saw the state of things, they were less inclined to hang on to hype from their youth.

  3. I would love to get a copy of the book. I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to get it via amazon.com for several months now. Is there a library or a website in the world where I could get a copy ?

    Pls advise. Thanks

  4. Hello Toni. I’m sorry but the publication has been delayed several times over. You might want to order the original version, “Saving Private Power,” from Amazon.

    Thanks…
